Anime Defenders on Roblox has recently had a huge update in the form of Update 4. This update has brought a ton of content to the game, which includes the new Portals. The end game of these new Portals is to try to get and beat Secret Portals.
But how exactly can you obtain these Portals and beat them? We’ll break down the entire process for you as it can be a bit complicated. At the end, you’ll be able to try your luck and get the new Secret Units. Let’s get into it!
How To Get & Beat Secret Portals in Update 4
It’s important to keep in mind that there is no guaranteed method to get Secret Portals. You’ll basically need to try your luck with every single Portal so that you can make your way up eventually to a Secret Portal.
So be prepared to do a lot of grinding! It is the only way you’ll be able to get and beat Secret Portals in Anime Defenders.
Here is a breakdown of all the steps you need to follow to get and beat Secret Portals in Anime Defenders after Update 4:
- Play Infinite Mode
- Obtain Rare and Epic Portals
- Play these Portals to get Legendary and Mythic Portals
- Beat Mythic Portals to get Secret Portals
- Beat Secrete Portals to get Secret Units.
Play Infinite Mode
Starting off, to even start getting Portals in Anime Defenders you’ll need to play Infinite Mode. This mode was launched as part of Update 4. So go to the Play section in the game, and go through all the Worlds.
You should be able to see an Infinite Mode option there. Additionally, the Infinite Mode for each World will provide different types of Portals as rewards. The higher World that you go to, the better Portals you’ll get with higher chances.
You can divide the different types of Portals into 3 Tiers in Anime Defenders. Here is a breakdown of all of them including their rewards:
- Tier 1 Worlds – Demon Portals
- Windmill Village
- Rare Demon Portal – 30%
- Epic Demon Portal – 15%
- Haunted City
- Rare Demon Portal – 45%
- Epic Demon Portal – 20%
- Windmill Village
- Tier 2 Worlds – Cursed Kingdom Portals
- Blue Planet
- Rare Cursed Kingdom Portal – 30%
- Epic Cursed Kingdom Portal – 15%
- Underwater Temple
- Rare Cursed Kingdom Portal – 45%
- Epic Cursed Kingdom Portal – 20%
- Swordsman Dojo
- Rare Cursed Kingdom Portal – 50%
- Epic Cursed Kingdom Portal – 25%
- Blue Planet
- Tier 3 Worlds – Ancient Dragon Portals
- Snowy Woods
- Rare Ancient Dragon Portal – 30%
- Epic Ancient Dragon Portal – 15%
- Crystal Cave
- Rare Ancient Dragon Portal – 50%
- Epic Ancient Dragon Portal – 30%
- Snowy Woods
The Tier 3 Portals in Anime Defenders are the best ones that you can get. However, they will be more difficult to beat, and the chances of getting the Secret Portals from them will be the lowest.
When you’re in Infinite Mode, your goal will be to get as far as you can get. You’ll be able to get a chance to get Portals every 15 Waves. Additionally, the further you progress through the waves, the higher the chances of getting better Portals.
So at each multiple of 15, you’ll be able to get Portals, like Wave 30, 45, etc.
So, ideally, you want to get as far as you can get in Infinite Mode for the world that you choose. Keep in mind that you will not be able to get Legendary, Mythic and Legendary Portals from here.
You can only get Rare and Epic Portals from Infinite Mode in Update 4.
Play Rare and Epic Portals
Now that you’ve gotten a bunch of different Portals, it’s time to play them in Anime Defenders. Keep in mind that the Portal you choose will help you get the higher Rarity above it.
For example, beating a Rare Portal will allow you to get the Epic Portal. Similarly, beating an Epic Portal will allow you to get the Legendary Portal.
So, your goal will be to get a bunch of Legendary Portals with this process.
You can actually even play with your friends and it is highly recommended. But keep in mind that the host will have higher chances of getting the Portals compared to the others.
Nonetheless, all of you will have better chances of getting Portals if you play together. You can check the odds for a specific Portal before you’re starting it.
Play Legendary Portal
Now that you’ve gotten a Legendary Portal in Anime Defenders, it’s time to play it with your friends too. Beating this Legendary Portal will give you a chance to unlock a Mythic Portal.
Be sure to bring some powerful units with your friends so that you can beat these Portals faster and have a greater chance of getting the Mythic Portal.
Play Mythic Portal
After you get a Mythic Portal, it’s time to play it as well. If you look at the rewards of a Mythic Portal in Anime Defenders, you’ll see that you can finally get a Secret Portal!
As you can see, it is a long process where luck is involved at every step. Again, you want to play with your friends and bring plenty of money units so that you can power through.

It’s important to note that if you lose any Portal, none of you will be able to get the rewards! Eventually, after playing through the Mythic Portals, you should be able to get a Secret Portal.
Keep in mind that the type of Portal you are playing will also dictate your chances of getting the Secret Portal.
Here are the odds for getting Secret Portals for each world in Anime Defenders:
- Demon Portals (Tier 1)
- Secret Portal Chances: 10%
- Cursed Kingdom Portal (Tier 2)
- Secret Portal Chances: 3%
- Ancient Dragon Portal (Tier 3)
- Secret Portal Chances: 2%
As you can see, the higher the Tier of Portal you play, the better the Secret you’ll get at the end!
Beat Secret Portal
After this entire painfully long process, you or your friend should finally be able to get a Secret Portal. Now all you need to do is beat this Secret Portal.
You’ll be able to get a Secret Unit as a reward, depending on the type of Portal that you are facing. The Tier 3 Portal will give you the better Secret Unit compared to the others.
However, keep in mind that the host of the Secret Portal will have a 100% chance to get the secret unit for beating it. On the other hand, the other people joining will only have a 2% chance to get the Secret Unit!
This might differ for different worlds but we have not been able to confirm it as of yet.
So, ideally, you’ll want to get the Secret Portal yourself and then beat it with your friends. Additionally, to get all three of the Secret Units, you’ll need to beat all of the different Tiers of Secret Portals.
And in this way, you’ll be able to get and beat all the Secret Portals in Update 4.
