It is exciting to overcome a boss challenge in any survival game. In Once Human, there are prime wars that you can participate in to get various rewards. However, doing these challenges is a little risky. You are going to need to win to not lose any of your buildings during the battle. Of course, it is important to have a good rating as well while doing these challenges. In this guide, we are going to take a look at how to complete prime wars with a high rating in Once Human.

Take a look at the table of contents below to see the sections of this guide.

How To Complete Prime Wars with High Rating

Prime wars are late-game public events that may be started using Staroid or teleported from the map once they begin and are located in Stardust Swamps. It is essentially a tower defense mini-game in which there is a big boss with a shield bar and a health bar who will walk from their spawn of silver goo to a Staroid Restrainer, destroying any player-built buildings in their way.

You win when you overcome the boss; you lose if your Staroid Restrainer is destroyed. The boss will create epic and normal mobs to help destroy player-built constructions or target Gatling Cannons.

You can figure out how to get the most applicable amount of rating you can through four different modes, these modes are:

  • Destroying the silver plague shield that protects the Prime War boss.
  • Dealing damage to the Prime War boss.
  • Building defensive structures that soak up damage from the Prime War boss.
  • General healing and supporting your team if they go to the down-but-not-out stage.

Tips & Tricks

  • Create a small defense barrier. It doesn’t have to be large. You can use half blocks here and there, and they only require sintered bricks. Which is incredibly convenient. This is the only structure required for a solo player to deal and absorb damage against the Prime War boss.
  • Make it short. Because the will are giant turrets on your way that will want to shoot over the barricade you just made. So, if you make it too tall, you risk yourself losing out on the damage from the turrets because you will have no way of aiming at the boss.
  • Do not clog up the terrain with a whole bunch of buildings, and specifically try not to use wooden building structures because they explode almost immediately and really don’t give you all that many points, and they take up a lot of space because you are slamming them down because you need so many just to obtain the point structure.
  • If you use stone foundations, you only need sintered bricks, and if you use half walls for concrete or stone, again, you only need sintered bricks. It is very simple to not bring a lot of materials and get a lot of bang for your buck at the same time.

Prime War Bosses

There are three different prime war bosses you are going to encounter during the challenges. We are going to take a look at each one of them, but first, their names are as:

  • Ravenous Hunter
  • Shadow Hound
  • Secret Servitor

Ravenous Hunter

Ravenous Hunter has a silver plague shield that you can see dropping from all the missiles. Then it will have a health bar. The silver plague shield will go down very quickly, and even if you have a grenade launcher, you will only hit for about 1,000, sometimes 1,300 on average damage. So, when you have Molotov and grenades like hand grenades or C4, all that does okay damage, but really, you don’t get enough time to be able to apply that damage.

However, you shouldn’t be using hand grenades and Molotovs. You can use rocket launchers and grenade launchers. The best option is the grenade launcher because it allows you to produce fortress warfare on the ground. If you time it correctly near when the boss’s shield does deplete, it is going to give you a damage bonus to deal more damage to the boss’s main health pool. Also, anyone around you will be able to get this bonus as well.

The silver plague shield will come back up after a while. This means that you will have to do another volley of missiles. For all the damage that you are doing to the boss, you are not going to be able to touch the silver plague shield without explosive damage.

The best explosive damage by far is the close-range turrets or the Gatling guns. Moreover, the second upgrade, not the first, will deal 50% more damage. You are going to be using biomass missiles with proper specialization. You can create three instead of one for the same price this way

With another specialization, you can allow your turrets to do even more damage. Then, with a final specialization, you can even make it so that you can make red plasma missiles, which are five times more effective than a standard biomass missile.

Those are all ways to deal a ton of damage to the shield on the Prime War boss. We would highly suggest you go the biomass missile route. You will also get rated on how much time you take until completion, so the quicker you complete the boss, the more points you get as well.

When you do get the shield down completely and the Ravenous Hunter’s health down considerably, he will go immune. So, when the Ravenous Hunter does go immune. What you are going to have to pay attention to is he is going to lift his arm with a big gun up in the air and shoot a volley of missiles.

Your goal is to make sure those missiles do not land and touch the ground. If you do, well, you will basically lose the fight and die. That is the most important part of the battle.

This is for all difficulties; the terrain that you fight him on may be different. Every difficulty has a different terrain for you to learn how to fight on. Make sure you can mop up some Elite enemies and normal enemies before the actual mission completes so you can kind of bloat your score rating as much as possible.

Now, remember, you only need a 1,200 rating to be able to complete hard mode at the highest difficulty. But you can get up to a 4,700 rating if you manage to do everything possible in this mode. So, there are plenty of things you can do as long as you kind of understand the different stats and how to do them. But mainly block damage from building structures. Then, boss damage from your own weapons, and then silver plague damage from your biomass missiles through your Gatling cannons.

Shadow Hound

Every Prime War Boss gives you about three minutes from when you hit start for you to set up. This is good to make sure everyone has missiles in the right position to be able to deal damage. And they have ammunition ready to go, maybe they need to do some final building just in case. After the Ravenous Hunter, the Shadow Hound can be summoned.

When the Shadow Hound appears, quickly focus on throwing some grenades at it. You will probably have a lot of other players around while doing these missions, so its shield will go down pretty quickly. If you do not have many people because the people on the server did not show up, it might take you a little longer.

The Shadow Hound boss is pretty simple. This boss does move around a little bit more. He does have charges, he does jump up, and he has some projectiles that fly out from him. He will jump in the air and spin around until you break his shield. However, when you take him down quickly, what happens is he will shoot towards your base.

It will shoot towards where your Stardust Protector heart is, which you should have protected with some structures of your own. While this is happening, you have to burn his health down as quickly as possible.

Secret Servitor

Secret Servitor boss fight is by far the hardest fight in any of the Prime War difficulties mainly for the fact that it has a wipe mechanic. Also, you have to deal enough damage quickly enough. While doing that you also have to make sure you do not hit the wrong target. If you do that, it is an instant wipe for your entire group.

When its shield gets cracked and the boss is on the floor, you need to focus on dealing damage to it as quickly as possible. You are not going to have any free time here because you need to defeat it quickly.

At one point the boss will multiply itself. Then, there will be three bosses in front of you. You need to shoot the right one. Two of them will be silver. And one of them will have a black and silver type of mix. That is the boss you want to shoot.

If you take that boss down you win the game. So, you need to do this quickly enough. Because the boss is going to start slamming lightning bolts down onto your main base and if that main base crumbles you lose the game.

Figuring out the true boss is not that difficult. The only thing you need to do is to focus on the different one. So, do not panic, and make sure to shoot the one with a different appearance. The bosses will change places with each other so you are going to need to focus on that too.
