Combat Initiation is a Roblox game that asks the question “what if Ultrakill was a Roblox game?”. The game features a combat similar to Ultrakill, in which you can essentially parry everything if you time it right. The game features enemies that you can parry against and yes, even bosses can be parried. But how can you parry them? In this guide, I will show you how you can parry every single boss in Combat Initiation without breaking a sweat, all while using a sword.
Complete Sword Boss Parry Guide
Please bear in mind that the game does have other weapons you can use. But the main focus for this guide is how to parry with the sword weapon in the game. No other weapons will be used in showing you how to parry the bosses.
Be sure to check out our beginner’s guide on how to play Combat Initiation before trying to parry bosses in the game.
Jason
- Basic Slash – Jason can attack with a basic slash that can be easily parried. Simply attack when the light flashes.
- Dash Attack – Jason will dash after you and attack you twice. This requires you to attack twice when the light flashes. Be sure to remember that you need to dash backwards as well or else you will get hit, even if you time it right.
- Chainsaw Throw – If you attack Jason from a distance, Jason will throw his chainsaw towards you. Once the chainsaw is within a feet in front of you, you can then attack and parry it back to Jason. Do not attack as soon as you see the light, as it is still too far from you.
Captain
- Pow-Pow-Pow – The Captain is primarily a range attacker, so he will attack you with his basic attack which is a three shot attack from his flintlock. You can easily parry and deflect it back to the Captain by timing each shot right.
- Blunderbuss – A much more powerful version of his three shot attack. The Captain will pull out a blunderbuss and shoot you with it. The trick is to dash to the side and attack when he shoots you with the blunderbuss. Dashing is important because you will get hurt from the AoE attack.
- Barrel – This one is simple. The Captain will throw a barrel at you, which you can then go up and attack it. This will parry the attack and throw the barrel back to the Captain.
Vagabond
- Basic Slashes – The Vagabond will charge at you three times to slash you. At the third slash, you can parry the attack and deal damage to him.
- Cannonball Dash – This one requires quick reaction. When you’re too far from the Vagabond, he will jump towards you do a cannonball attack that deals a lot of damage. When he does, jump up when he’s close and you can attack him mid air, parrying his attack.
- Homing Ball – The Vagabond throws a ball of light towards you that will home in on you as long as its visible. Simply wait till it approaches before attacking the ball, deflecting it back to the Vagabond.
- Dash Tempest – Similar to the basic slash, the Vagabond will dash towards you but from a far distance. He can easily cover long distances with this move. To parry, simply avoid the first attack and parry the second attack when he dashes towards you.
King
- Cannon Fire – Similar to Captain’s Pow-Pow-Pow, you have to wait until the range attacks reach you before you attack three items consecutively to parry the three cannon attacks.
- Mace (Straight) – This one is a quick attack so keep your eyes open. The King will rear his mace back and throw it at you quickly, often damaging those who are not paying attention to the attack. When he leans back, be sure to dash to the side and attack to deflect the attack.
- Mace (Side) – Same with the straight version of the mace, simply keep an eye out and attack when the King sweeps at you with the mace.
- Mace (Overhead) – Same with the last two attacks, attack when the mace reaches you to parry the attack.
Great Drakobloxxer
- Forward Stab – When it rears its sword back, it’s going for a forward stab. Wait until the attack is heading towards you before dashing forward and attacking the sword. Don’t worry when you get sent flying. It’s normal and you won’t take damage.
- Downward Slash – When it raises the sword up in the air, you can simply wait for it to reach you before attacking the sword and parrying the attack.
- Missiles – These are easily parryable. But the problem lies in doing damage with it. You have to aim at the head when you parry the missiles in order to send them flying towards the Great Drakobloxxer.
Cannon
- Art Shot – When the Cannon aims up, it will start shooting rounds up into the air and rain it down on you. You can attack these cannon shots and either deflect them back to the Cannon or just away from you.
- Enraged Shot – The Cannon will charge up an attack that will shoot out multiple attacks. When it charges, wait for it and stand still. You can then dash forward and attack 3 times to send at least 3 of the cannon shots back towards it.
Juggernaut
- Slam – The Juggernaut will attack forward two times before performing an overhead attack. When it does, you can then attack the Juggernaut and parry his attack.
- Hammer Bounce – This one requires two parries. When the Juggernaut throws the hammer towards you, the first parry will bounce the hammer into the air. The second attack will then fling the hammer back to the Juggernaut, dealing damage.
- Hammer Throw – The Juggernaut will throw the hammer sideways. This is how you can indicate if it’s a Hammer Bounce or Hammer Throw. When thrown sideways, you can simply hit it back and deal damage.
Slasher
- Combo/Slash Ender – The Slasher will slash you with an initial attack before trying to do another. You can parry the second attack as soon as he gets into position.
- Lunge – When the Slasher jumps up, it’s getting ready to lunge at you. Dash to the side when he does and attack to parry the attack.
- Slam – This one is really hard and requires you to be ready. When the Slasher jumps up and dives down towards you, wait until he’s close to you before attack him just before he hits the ground. Parrying this attack will negate all AoE damage he does.
- Portal Slashes – When you start seeing black portals floating around you, wait until one of them flashes white before you attack and dash away from them. It won’t do damage but you won’t get damaged either.
- Throwing Daggers – Simple as blocking range attacks, just wait until they’re throw towards you before you attack and parry it.
