Core Keeper 1.0: How To AFK Farm Malugaz Guide

Turn this difficult boss into an easy cakewalk!

Core Keeper 1.0 features a variety of bosses that you can face off against. Each of these bosses has certain drops you can get, which makes it worth it to farm some of them. One such boss is Malugaz the Corrupted.

If you’re having trouble with this boss or tired of farming him, we’ve got you covered! In this guide, we’ll show you exactly how you can AFK farm Malugaz. Without further delay, let’s dive in!

How To AFK Farm Malugaz Guide

If you’re trying to experience Core Keeper in its entirety first, we do recommend that you try to defeat the boss normally first. This is because it’s fun to learn his mechanics and beat him.

Of course, if you want to farm the drops or are finding him difficult to defeat, then you can use this AFK farm strat. It basically takes advantage of an exploit in the game.

Initial Setup

Before we can begin AFK farming Malugaz, there is an initial setup that you’ll need to complete in Core Keeper. Start by going to the boss arena. Once you’re here, you should start clearing up the area.

This means breaking all the walls that you can until you can see the obsidian walls. Be sure to do this in the area that he spawns as well.

Once you’re done, the map should look something like this.

After you’re done clearing the area, go to the chamber where you spawn the Malugaz boss. After that, exit the chamber and go to the circular path on the left.

You should basically line yourself up with the path that comes out from the left of the spawn area, as shown below. After that, place down some ground tiles so that you can cover the gap to the chamber wall.

After you’ve placed the ground, make sure to put a fence on the right most tile that you placed.

Once that’s done, return to the boss chamber. Over here, go to the left and pull out your shovel. Start digging the ground here in a vertical line to ensure that there are no tiles touching the wall in the chamber.

After that, go back out and return to the area where you built the fence. Over here, use the shovel to start clearing out the ground that is above your position.

Do this until there is no possible way for the boss to spawn near.

Finally, go to the boss chamber and start placing down spike traps all over the spawn area. Leave one tile without traps, as you’ll be placing the Malugaz summon item here.

Fight Strategy

Once you’re ready, place the summon item down so you can spawn Malugaz. Once you do so, immediately dash out of the chamber and go to the fence area.

Take out your shovel and start clearing all the remaining ground that you left below, just like you did with the ground above. Clear all the tiles until you are left standing on the ground tile with the fence.

Make sure to stand on one side of the fence for maximum effectiveness.

The reason for removing all the ground with the shovel was to ensure that Malugaz cannot spawn anywhere near you. As a result, he will just stay stationary where he spawned.

He’ll start to take damage from the Spike traps where he is standing. You will not need to do anything, just stay AFK as the spike traps eventually kill him.

Now you can place down more ground tiles so that you can go into the chamber to get your rewards. After you get your rewards, place down another summon item between the traps and run out again.

Repeat the same strategy as much as you want.

In this way, you will be able to AFK farm Malugaz the Corrupted for as long as you want!

That’s everything you need to know about AFK farming Malugaz. We strongly suggest you do this as the rewards that you can get are more than worth the effort. It will also hardly take you a few minutes to kill him once you’ve got the initial setup placed.

After this boss, you’ll be able to explore the outer biomes. Over here, you’ll come across another boss in the form of Azeos. Our complete azeos boss guide will show you how you can defeat him too!
