The latest update of Genshin Impact features new regions, quests, enemies, and various rewards for completing all of these. One of the additions is a new resin boss called the Tenebrous Papilla. In this guide, we will be showing you how to find it and quickly go through a few things to keep in mind as you try and beat it.
How to Find the Tenebrous Papilla
The Tenebrous Papilla is actually pretty easy to find. For example, from the Stadium of the Sacred Flame, you only need to head a bit to the north, just a little under where the Flower-Feather Clan is located.
Regardless of which starting point you have chosen, you will need to make your way down from the cliffs and follow the river in order to enter the cave of the Tenebrous Papilla. Check the map image below to see where the exact node is.
As you follow the highlighted path, you will eventually find a teleport waypoint along the way. Activate it and then continue moving along the linear path. Eventually, you will come across an even more narrow pathway, and your surroundings will change to have an increasingly purple hue.
At the end of the path, you will find yet another teleport waypoint to be activated. Straight ahead from the waypoint is the Tenebrous Papilla. If you are ready to fight it, simply walk up to it and start the encounter!
The one thing to keep in mind with this particular boss is that it does not have any elemental weaknesses. Because of this, you are free to use whatever team you are the most comfortable with, which are ideally the best units you have.
Eventually, the boss will try to charge up. Whenever it does this, it becomes resistant to most forms of damage. In order to force it out of this phase, you will need to deal elemental damage to fill up the bar under its health.
Characters that can utilize the Nightsoul mechanic (Natlan units) will fill up the bar significantly faster than normal elemental damage. If you have managed to pull some of the characters (e.g. Kachina, Mualani, etc.), you should slot them into your team even if just to burst this boss down faster.
And that is pretty much all you need to know in order to find the Tenebrous Papilla and also a few tips on how you should tackle this fight. If you have not been able to pull some Natlan characters, now is the perfect time to try your luck with the gacha to make this a little easier!
