Torchlight Infinite has a brand new season out in the form of SS7 with a lot of new content to explore. This includes Legendary Gear improvement reworks that has changed how you can craft T1 Gear. Having trouble understanding this new system?
Not to worry, we have you covered! In this guide, we’ll be showing how you can craft T1 Gear. Not only that, but we’ll show you the best way possible so that you can save on money. After all, upgrading in the game is luck based, so you might lose a lot of money. Let’s get into it!
How to Craft T1 Gear Guide
When crafting T1 Gear in Torchlight Infinite, you’ll need a lot of material which includes Flame Elementium (FE). Our method does attempt to reduce this amount but you’ll still need it, since upgrading it luck based.
As a result, if you’re up for farming, we recommend checking out our netherrealm farming strategies guide. We go over how you can farm a bunch of materials that will help you with the crafting process.
Crafting System Explained
When you’re ready to craft a T1 Gear, the first thing you need to do is select an item as a base. When you select the item, hit the Anvil icon at the bottom to open the Craft menu. Here, you’ll be able to see three tabs of Affixes.
Additionally, there will be a Tier level linked to all the affixes. Depending on the level of your item, the tier will be different. In our case, we are using a Level 86 Ring.
If the ring had been below Level 85, then the Tier would have been T2 which is not what we want in this case. So, make sure that you select the right level gear.
Once that’s taken care of, you can now move onto the crafting. Here, you’ll be able to select an affix so that you can try and roll a better one. When you select an affix you want to replace, the menu on the right will show you all the affixes you can roll.
The more advanced the affix is, the better the stats usually are. However, it will also cost you more materials, especially the Ultimate Affix ones.
To increase your chances of getting a particular affix, you can take advantage of blocking an affix. What this means is that if you have a particular affix stat already in your gear, the same stat will now be blocked.
As a result, if you want to get another stat, you’ll have a higher chance. In our case below, we wanted a damage affix, so now our chances will be higher. So, you can roll other affixes in the Basic Affix menu for example, so that you can get a stat you can block in the Ultimate one.
Of course, this is all luck based and we do not recommend that you go all in for this strategy. Only use this when you see an opportunity.
Instead, what we recommend is using a good base gear for the one you want. For example, in our case, we want a ring that has T1 Affliction or Intelligence at the start, so that we can roll for other good T1 Affixes.
This will help you save money – especially when you’re trying to get Advanced or Ultimate Affixes.
Selecting Base Gear
To get the right base gear, you’ll want to head to the Trade House. Here, you’ll find a bunch of Gear that other players are selling for FE.
To get the specific type of gear you want, you’ll need to use the search filters. In our case, since we’re looking for a ring, we’ll select the ring filter.
We also want a ring that has a T1 Affliction or Intelligence affix. Make sure you also add the right minimum level to ensure that you’ll be able to craft it into the T1 Gear you need.
After that, go through all the gear and see which ones fit your requirements alongside the required currency. Remember the reason we’re doing this is so that we can save money, which means we’ll want to get the optimal gear.
We recommend favoriting all the ones you see. After that, you can sort through the favourites until you can decide on a gear that fits the bill. Once that’s taken care of, you can move onto crafting.
Crafting T1 Gear
By selecting the right base gear, we have potentially saved ourselves from a lot of money. This is because getting the T1 affixes we have on this base gear would have taken a lot of luck and tries, which would have cost money and currency.
However, we’ll still need to try our luck and get T1 affixes in the other categories. To do this, select the other affixes and see if the affixes listed are good. After that, roll your chances until you are satisfied with what you get.
Once you’re happy with the stats you have, you can try and use the Reroll mechanic to get better values. This is also available at the start of the crafting menu by selecting the icon shown below.
By consuming Truth Embers, you can reroll the values of the stats to potentially improve them even more until you’re happy with what you have.
In this case, here is the final ring that we have got. As you can see, by using the crafting mechanic you can take a good base gear and turn it into a T1 gear.
That’s everything you need to know about crafting T1 gear in Torchlight Infinite. Hopefully, you’ll be able to have good luck and be able to get a nice T1 gear item off the bat. Remember to choose a good base gear so you can save both time and money!
