How To Play Jason Guide

Jason is one of the beginner killers and has the potential to be the best if used correctly. So beginners will benefit a lot from this guide. He’s an incredibly fast killer that can catch up to survivors really quickly. Additionally, he is also good against stunners with some satisfying abilities, especially Gashing Wound.

So, we’ll go over Jason’s abilities before providing you tips and tricks on how to master him.

Jason’s Abilities

Here is a breakdown of all of Jason’s abilities and how to use them in Forsaken:

Mute (Passive)

  • Ability: Jason’s terror radius is smaller as opposed to other killers
  • You can sneak up on survivors working generators without them even realizing until it’s too late
  • Waiting around a corner or wall is a good way to take advantage of this passive

Slash (Basic Attack)

  • Damage: 20 (25 when used Enraged)
  • Inflicts Bleeding I effect of 1 second
  • A lunge is added to this attack if used while Enraged

Behead

  • Ability: Jason lunges forward in a horizontal swing to the head
  • Applies Helpless I effect on survivors for 14 seconds (Survivors will not be able to use perks or abilities during that time)
  • Jason gets slowed for 2 seconds after this attack

Gashing Wound

  • Ability: Jason grabs the survivor and does a combo of attacks on them
  • In total, he’ll do 50 damage or 75 if he is Enraged
  • This is a lot of damage so you’ll want to be careful with it

Raging Pace

  • Ability: Allows Jason to become Enraged
  • Jason’s speed is increased to 19.5 for 14 seconds
  • The aura of the nearest survivor is revealed to him until Enraged ends, and it will linger for an extra 2 seconds
  • While in effect, Jason becomes immune to stuns and has his sprinting disabled
  • His stamina is slowly capped at 75 and will deplete over the span of 6.5 seconds until Enraged ends.

Jason Tips And Tricks

To master Jason, we recommend using the following tips and tricks so you can use him most effectively in Forsaken:

Tip #1

Try to land your Behead on a stunner like Guest 1337, Elliot or Shedletsky. This will allow you to cancel out their stuns, their blocks and the Rush Hour ability from Elliot.

This will make it much easier for you to chase survivors and grab them with the Gashing Wound ability. You won’t have to worry about them escaping while the Helpless I effect lasts as they can’t stun, charge or dodge you.

Tip #2

Always let the survivor run first. This is because you have 10 extra stamina and 28 speed which is really fast. In this way, you’ll catch up to the survivor much quicker before their stamina recovers.

Just make sure that you are a little closer to them before you do this. If you’re far, you will not be able to get value out of this.

Tip #3

Always use Gashing Wound when a Chance misses their shot close range or a Guest 1337 mistimes their block. This gives you the opportunity to punish them and take away almost half their health.

Tip #4

When you’re chasing a survivor and running low on stamina, use Raging Pace if you’re still close to them. This will allow you to catch up a little bit while your stamina is recovering. In this way, you can continue chasing the survivor once you regain stamina fully.

Another way to use Raging Pace is to identify the nearest survivor and go in their direction. This is really good towards the end of the game when you’ve killed most of the survivors. It will allow you to secure that win.

Tip #5

Jason’s Behead can actually be used to hit multiple survivors at once. This is really effective on generators as these can have multiple survivors working on them together.
