Have you just returned to Fisch and don’t know where to start in the Second Sea? Or do you just need a quick and easy guide to help you get the newest items faster? Say no more! After reading this article, you will learn everything you need to know for the best rod progression in the game (as of this update)!

What Starter Rod to Use

By making it to the Second Sea, you must at least be level 200. And by then, there are already better options than the starter choices on Waveborne. So, generally, it is recommended that you go for other rods later down the line.

If you have First Sea rods such as Champion’s, Trident, Depthseeker, or the Ethereal Prism Rod, they’ll do a good job to help you farm enough money to buy one of the new Second Sea rods. If you do not have either of the previously mentioned items, I would say to go for the Frog Rod because of its unique passive ability. The rod’s coordinates are 220, 120, 815.

Starting Location

Azure Lagoon in Fisch

Once you’re all set, travel to the Azure Lagoon—this is one of the best places to farm, especially at night. If you prefer a different location, you can also choose the Isle of New Beginnings. We have a guide showing the best farming XP method in the Second Sea in Fisch that focuses around that island. (Although, you need a specific Rod for that one. So, in the meantime, just focus on the smaller fish and return when you’re fully prepared!)

With your desired rod, farm enough until you reach at least 100,000E$ or more. This is because you will need this money to purchase one of the new Second Sea rods that will help improve your farming experience.

Buying Better Rods

If you’ve saved up enough cash, travel over to Lushgrove. Go and find the Merchant NPC at this location. Look for two small wooden houses located at the edge of the island. There, you will find your first Second Sea Rod (if you haven’t picked the Frog Rod).

Verdant Shear Rod in Fisch Second Sea: How to Get All New Rods Guide & Locations

Buy the Verdant Shear Rod located beside the Merchant. As mentioned before, this will cost 100,000E$ but it is totally worth it. Here are its coordinates: 1020, 130, -705.

Just like the Frog Rod, this Verdant Shear Rod has a really good passive ability. You are able to spawn a Tree, which can grant you a chance to get mutations that will triple the value of the fish you catch. In other words, once you acquire this item, farming for the next rod will not be as difficult. The only downside to using this rod is that for its ability to work, you must only fish during daytime

When using the Verdant Shear Rod, it is recommended to fish at the Isle of New Beginnings. Farm until you reach 200,000E$

Isle of New Beginnings in Fisch

This is because you will need to buy the (arguably) best fishing rod of the Second Sea: the Free Spirit Rod. Its passive ability is considerably the best, if not the greatest, in the entire update. The shortest explanation to this rod is that it’s really good at helping you farm lots of money FAST. If you want to know more about this item, check out our guide on how to get the Free Spirit Rod for more details. You will find this rod at these coordinates: -386, 78, -389.

Getting the Last Second Sea Rod

To get the Great Dreamer Rod (the last item in the game), you must have all of the Second Sea rods in your inventory before you are able to buy. It will also cost a huge price of  500,000E$!

While you have the Free Spirit Rod equipped, keep farming between the two islands mentioned in this guide (Azure Lagoon and Isle of New Beginnings). Keep doing this until you have accumulated 1.5 million in-game currency. This huge amount of money is needed to buy all of the Second Sea rods, including the Greater Dreamer Rod

Cursed Shores in Fisch

The last item can be found on the Cursed Shores at these exact coordinates: 1285, 90, 2285. Once you’re on the island, look for the wooden bridge and cross to the other platform. You will find a set of ladders leading up to a tree overlooking a cliff. The Great Dreamer Rod can be seen leaning on said tree.

While the other Second Sea rods aren’t mentioned in this guide, I highlighted the ones I personally believe you will need the most—especially if you want the fastest rod progression in Fisch right now. That is not to say that the others do not have their importance. Each rod can benefit a certain playstyle or choice of enchantments.
