Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 gives you access to a whole assortment of characters that you can try out. Along your journey, you will get access to different outfits that will help add variety to your characters. The swimsuit outfits, in particular, stand out from among the rest. If you’re trying to get your hands on all the possible swimsuit outfits, we’ve got you covered! In this guide, we’ll show you the locations and how to unlock all of the swimsuits in the game for your characters. Without further delay, let’s get into it!
How To Unlock All Swimsuits
There are a total of 9 swimsuits that you can unlock in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Quite a few of these can be frustrating to get, since most of them are linked to the Gestral Beach challenges.
So, we recommend that you complete that slowly, rather than in one go.
All of the Gestral challenges are also available in the open world. Some of them will require you to make story progression, as you’ll need movement abilities to actually traverse the map. With that said, let’s take a look at the challenges.
Sciel Relationship Level 6 Cutscene – Sciel and Verso Swimsuit 1
For our first set of swimsuit outfits, we won’t be doing the Gestral Beach challenges. Instead, all you need to do is increase your Relationship Level to 6 with Sciel. You can do this by spending time with her at the camp.
Once you do so, a cutscene will start where you can help Sciel face her fear of the water.
At the end, you will see the Relationship level increase and also get the Sciel and Verso Swimsuit 1 outfits as your reward!
Gestral Beach #1 – Gustave Swimsuit and Lune Swimsuit 1 (Parkour)
The first Gestral Beach challenge can be found pretty early on near the starting area of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. You’ll be able to find it at the location shown below.
Keep in mind that you’ll likely need the Swim ability if you want to actually enter this challenge.
The start of the challenge will require you to parkour through an obstacle course consisting of logs and moving platforms. This challenge can be extremely frustrating, particularly because the movement tech in the game is not the best.
Some players have reported that they had the best experience using Lune for this part. This is because her floating can help with parkour. After some tries, you should be able to complete it.
At the end of the course, you’ll come across a Gestral. This Gestral will then ask you the question, “If I were a 2 year old human, at what age would I gommage?”

The truth is that you do not need to enter the correct answer. Any answer will be accepted. This is because the Beach Gestral cannot do math, so it will accept whatever answer you give to it.
The actual answer to this question is 17, which is based on the countdown sequence on the Paintress’ Pillar.
In Clair Obscur, the current number on the pillar is 33, which goes down by one every year. Similarly, a human would age up every year. So, once the human reaches 17, the number on the pillar will also be 17, resulting in the human dying.
After answering the question, you will be given two swimsuits as a reward: Gustave Swimsuit and Lune Swimsuit 1 outfit. It’ll show you only the Lune outfit, but you can go into your inventory to confirm.
Gestral Beach #2 – Lune And Sciel Swimsuit 2 (Raft Volleyball)
This Gestral Beach challenge is arguably the most frustrating of the lot. To start it, you’ll need to go to the following location east of the Stonewave Cliffs, after you complete the area.
As before, you will need to have unlocked the Swim ability.
For this challenge, you will need to participate in Raft Volleyball. To win the game, you will need to parry the Gestrals being thrown at you with the right timing. Doing so will throw the Gestral back at your opponent.
The timing is a bit awkward and you’ll likely need to take some time to get the parry timing right. You’ll need to hit right before the Gestral hits the raft, but not too late. Otherwise, the rhythm will be off and you’ll likely fail the challenge.
The best tip we have for you is to try to stay in the middle for the best positioning. Also, do not worry about which direction you are facing. As long as you get the parry timing right, the Gestral will automatically adjust.
The rewards that you get for this challenge will depend on the difficulty you have selected in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33:

Because of the difficulty requirements, this challenge can be tedious!
Gestral Beach #3 – Monoco Swimsuit (Ascension Obstacle)
The next Gestral Beach challenge can be unlocked by getting through Monoco’s Station in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. It can be found towards the west side of this location, shown below on the map.
Keep in mind that you will need to have the ability to swim through coral to access this challenge.
For this challenge, your goal will be to reach the top of the obstacle course by ascending. Many players have compared it to the game Only Up! This challenge can be quite frustrating too as one mistake can cause you to fall down.
Sometimes you can get lucky and land on another obstacle, allowing you to reduce the loss of progress. A good tip is to try to land on the larger platforms if you do end up falling.
Again, we recommend using Lune for the best experience.
It should take you around 7 minutes in one go to reach the top of the obstacle course. After some patience and tries, you should be able to get there.
Here, you will receive the Monoco Swimsuit outfit as your reward!
Gestral Beach #4 – Verso Swimsuit 1 (Race Obstacle)
The next Gestral Challenge can be found west of the Sinister Cave in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. You should be able to do it shortly after the Visage Axon boss fight.
This challenge is quite straightforward. All you need to do is reach the finish line in the allotted time. There are three tiers of rewards depending on the time you finish it in:
- Bronze Reward
- 00:45 seconds
- Silver Reward
- 00:41 seconds
- Gold Reward
- 00:38 seconds.
Surprisingly, this is one of the easier challenges considering how late in the game you get it. Your goal will be to make a beeline for the finish line while making as less errors as possible.
To get the Verso Swimsuit 1 reward, you will need to get the Gold Reward. The Gold Reward will give you access to all the other rewards.
Gestral Beach #5 – Maelle Swimsuit (Wall Climbing)
Last, but not least, we have the final Gestral Beach challenge. It can be found Southwest from the Sunless Cliffs, not far from the previous challenge.
For this challenge, you will need to have unlocked the Fly ability.
This challenge is one of the harder ones as it’s quite easy to mess up. It gets tough at the end too, as you’ll need to reach the top of the middle column to actually complete the challenge.
A good tip for this challenge is to only go up when the balls are in the other column from the one you are at. Try to change columns as less as possible, otherwise you can get caught by a ball.
Once you get your rhythm right, you should be able to complete it. At the top, the Gestral will give you the Maelle Swimsuit outfit as your reward!
