If you’re knee-deep in dirt (and maybe just a little obsessed with collecting rare pets like I am), then you’re gonna love what Grow a Garden has cooked up in its Lunar Glow update. This guide is your one-stop shop for everything you need to know, from the basics of Lunar Points to farming strategies, free rewards, and even what’s worth spending Robux on. Whether you’re free-to-play or ready to throw a few coins at the Moon, I’ve got you covered.

How to Complete Lunar Glow Update

So, what is up with the Lunar Glow Update? Well, it is Grow a Garden’s biggest (?) event yet, think of it as a night-only farming extravaganza. The garden now goes into a Night Mode, and that’s when the real magic begins. Some of your fruits get a special Moonlit mutation, which can be harvested and traded with the Wise Old Owl for Lunar Points. These points unlock everything from eggs and seed packs to exclusive pets like the Night Owl and even a Raccoon that steals crops for you (no, seriously).

SIDE NOTE: If it helps, consider checking out my guide on how to get rich in the Lunar Glow Update of Grow a Garden. I shared tips and tricks on how you can make the most of the update!

How to Start the Lunar Glow Event

When you load into the game, head to the center of the map where the Wise Old Owl sits on a tree surrounded by purple flowers and smaller owls. But here’s the catch: The event only activates at night. If it’s daytime, you won’t see any Moonlit fruits. But don’t worry, you can still do a few things while you wait. In the meantime, use the free code: lunarglow10. Pop this into the code box for:

  • 1x Exotic Bug Egg
  • 3x Basic Seed Packs

A nice head start before the real grind begins.

Maximize Your Moonlit Crop Mutations (Best Crops Post-Fix)

Night = Mutation Time. When the night cycle kicks in (check the timer near the owl tree!), some fruits in your garden may mutate into Moonlit Fruits. These glow faintly and are your ticket to earning Lunar Points. Here’s the real deal post-fix:

  • Best Crop: Tomatoes — They regrow and give 3 Lunar Points per moonlit fruit.
  • Budget Options: Blueberries or Bamboo — Good if you’re tight on coins.
  • Avoid: Strawberries & Carrots — They only give 1 point each and aren’t worth the space.

Any mutated plant has a shot at becoming moonlit, no matter how old. Just stay AFK through the night and check for that faint purple shimmer.

How I Max Out Lunar Points Every Night (Pre-Fix, But still Applicable)

If you’re trying to farm Lunar Points fast from Moonlit Fruits in Grow a Garden, here’s my exact method that gets me at least 4–9 fruits per night, and it adds up fast.

First, remember: you earn Lunar Points by giving Moonlit fruits to the Owl, and not all fruits are worth the same. For example:

  • Apple = 4 points
  • Mango = 5 points
  • Carrots & Strawberries = just 1–2 points

So what I do every day before night:

  1. Pull up all cheap crops (like blueberries, strawberries, carrots).
  2. Plant tons of Bamboo. It has the best shot of becoming Moonlit in my experience.
  3. Set up Sprinklers under mango, peach, and cacao trees to maximize fruit growth.
  4. Keep Easter Eggs! They’re worth 5 Lunar Points each.

IMPORTANT: Fruits must be fully grown to turn Moonlit. Growing ones won’t count.

Once night hits, I let the Moonlight do its thing. I usually find Bamboo, Mango, and sometimes Candy Blossom turned Moonlit by morning. When it ends:

  • I search “Moon” in my backpack to make sure I don’t accidentally sell anything valuable.
  • I harvest everything in crowded areas, you’d be surprised how many Moonlit fruits are hidden under leaves.

In one night, I got 9 Moonlit fruits and scored 46 Lunar Points, which got me a Night Seed Pack, Night Egg, and Night Staff. No Robux needed, just smart prep. This method helped me grind rewards faster without wasting time on low-value fruits. Hope it helps you too!

Tools & Features That Make Life Easier

Even if you’re not spending Robux, some features are super helpful:

  • Favorite Tool (Free): Lock fruits so they won’t be auto-harvested or stolen.
  • Recall Wrench (Buy with Coins): Teleports you instantly to the gear shop, amazing for private servers.
  • Pet Trade-In System (Free): Trade a level 20 pet for an extra equip slot (up to +5). No Robux needed!
  • Moon Staff (Robux or Reward-Based): Increases your chance of getting Moonlit mutations. Think of it like a Lunar Lightning Rod.

Night Staff: What It Actually Does

Contrary to what many thought, the Night Staff isn’t like the Lightning Rod. It doesn’t boost a small area, it affects your entire garden and randomly moonlights nearby mutated plants. But heads up: it only has 6 uses.

How to Use It Efficiently:

  • Use Tel to group your high-point plants (like Dragon Fruit, Grape, Pepper, or Peach Trees).
  • Drop the Night Staff when ready, it’ll moonlight several plants in one go.
  • Pro tip: Peach trees are fantastic. Just 2–3 can yield guaranteed moonlit fruit thanks to their fruit count.

Personal Note: The Waiting Game

I spent my first 5 hours farming and, no joke, never saw a Moonlit fruit. No lightning, no rain, no moon. Just dry, sunny, waiting. The event is fun, but the randomness can really test your patience. Still, when the night finally kicks in and you see that glow, it’s gonna be pretty satisfying.

My Honest Take: This Update Ain’t It for F2Ps

Alright, I’ve got to be real with you all for a minute. I’m not grinding for a seed that isn’t even guaranteed. This part of the update was a big letdown. The Lunar Blossom seed costs Robux, which feels super unfair to F2P players, meanwhile, P2Ws can just buy it and skip the grind.

Candy Blossom was way better, since you could buy it with Shekels. But now we have to farm Lunar Points, pray for a Moonlit fruit variant, and still deal with super low drop rates. By the time some players even get the seed, the event will be over. This update had potential, but locking key items behind RNG and paywalls? Not it.
