Elden Ring: Nightreign has 8 whole different characters for you to pick from, so it’s good to learn how to change them. Not only do they all play differently, but changing the one you control in the Roundtable Hold also enables you to talk to the one you previously controlled. Since variety is the spice of life, we’ll tell you how to change your character freely!

How to Select a Different Nightfarer in Nightreign

There are three main ways to change your characters in this game. The first, which is the manual method, is to interact with the Character Selection facility in the Roundtable Hold. It’s the bell shown above, next to the Banished Knight armor.

The second method is to press View (Xbox), Touchscreen (PlayStation), or the M key (PC). This will bring up your map and let you see all of the Roundtable Hold’s facilities. Just choose Character Selection from the list on the left and you’ll instantly appear in the character select screen.

The third and last method is to simply do it at the start of an Expedition. You’ll get the Character Selection screen every time a multiplayer Expedition starts. This lets you confirm your character, should you change your mind while queuing up. However, this only gives you about 10 seconds to pick before you’re sent to Limveld!

So, that’s all you need to do to be able to change to any of the other characters in Elden Ring: Nightreign!

While we’re at it, note that 2 of the 8 Nightfarers aren’t available from the start. You’ll need to unlock them first. To know more, check out our Duchess unlock guide as well as our Revenant unlock guide. Unlocking both of them shouldn’t take you very long and they’re pretty fun characters to play.

Gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
