Alright, so you’ve hit the point in Dune Awakening where you need the good stuff, Carbide Scraps and Diamondine Dust, and now you’re wondering where to find them. I’ve been there. Trust me, it’s not as simple as grabbing a shovel and digging. You’re going to Mysa Tarill, a hostile endgame zone where everything is trying to kill you. So if you’re wondering how to farm these rare materials without turning into sniper bait, good news: I already learned the hard way so you don’t have to. My guide breaks down exactly where to go, what to bring, and how to get in and out with your loot (and limbs) intact.

Where To Find Carbide Scraps & Diamondine | Mysa Tarill

Both Carbide Scraps & Diamondine are vital to your crafting progression.

  • Carbide Scraps are used in crafting a wide range of items, from melee weapons like Adept Swords and Regis Rapiers, to vehicle chassis like the Buggy Mk4, Mk5, and Scout Ornithopter Mk4. It’s technically an “industrial byproduct,” but you’ll treat it like gold once you see the recipes it unlocks.
  • Diamondine Dust, on the other hand, is a much rarer material needed for constructing high-end vehicles, especially your ornithopter. It’s also used in short blade crafting and various other late-game builds. If you’re flying, you’re Diamondine-ing.

So, where do you get these two shiny essentials? Let’s break it down.

Farming Carbide Scraps and Diamondine Dust in Dune: Awakening.

How To Get Carbide Scraps

1. Farm Them in Mysa Tarill (Northwest Zone)

The most consistent place to farm Carbide Scraps is in Mysa Tarill, located far northwest, just north of the Wall in the West Familiar Scarp zone. Look for the Crossroads fast travel point, unlock it once, and you’re golden for repeat runs.

But here’s the deal: this place isn’t a walk in the park. Enemies here are strong, snipers are lurking, and the main compound has a boss behind a locked door. The catch? You can’t fight the boss unless you’ve made it about halfway into the main story, this zone is tied directly to the campaign and contains major spoilers (there’s even a loudspeaker drop if you’re listening closely).

On the outside, you’ll find a couple of prefab buildings with small chests, as well as two chests near the main structure. But to get the good loot, you’ll need to climb the stairs behind the entrance and enter the boss room at the top. If you’re prepared and lucky, this chest will drop a hefty supply of Carbide Scraps.

Tip: Don’t roll in with underleveled gear. Bring solid armor, a reliable ranged weapon, and a plan. I’ve tried solo’ing it without much gear, it wasn’t pretty.

2. Buy From Merchants

Don’t feel like getting sniped? You can buy Carbide Scraps from Zoe, the merchant at The Crossroads Tradepost in Mysa Tarill. A safer but more expensive option.

3. Trade or Use the Exchange

You can also buy or trade for them with other players, either at social hubs like Arrakeen or through the Exchange, which is the game’s player-run auction system. Prices will vary based on demand and server economy.

How To Get Diamondine Dust

1. Farm It in Mysa Tarill (Yes, Again)

Mysa Tarill isn’t just for Carbide Scraps, it’s also the best place to farm Diamondine Dust. This time, you’ll want to follow a specific chest route:

  1. Enter from the east, heading into a small cave. First chest is here.
  2. Continue through the cave until you reach the courtyard with the snake altar. There are two chests on either side of the altar.
  3. Exit via the side passage, turn right, and you’ll find another chest just before climbing the wall.
  4. Get back on your vehicle and head up to a hilltop camp, inside the main chamber is your fifth chest.

Most of these chests can drop Diamondine, Carbide Scraps, and a few other handy materials. You can knock out the entire route in a few minutes if you’re fast and well-prepared.

NOTE: This is a high-level zone, and enemies are aggressive. If you’re not strong enough yet, I recommend looting and running. Leave your vehicle outside the entrance, you’ll thank yourself if you die and need a fast respawn.

2. Buy From the Weapon Vendor

If farming’s not your thing, you can purchase Diamondine Dust from the Weapons Vendor in Arrakeen or Harko Village, but it’ll cost you 3,500 Solari and you’ll need Reputation Level 4 with either faction.

Wrap-Up

So there you go, Mysa Tarill is your one-stop-shop for both Carbide Scraps and Diamondine Dust in Dune: Awakening, but it comes with risk. It’s tied to the main story, full of tough enemies, and not beginner-friendly. But if you come prepared (and maybe bring some friends), you’ll walk away with the goods needed to take your crafting to the next level.

And hey, if you do roll in with a stillsuit gear like I did? At least you’ll go out hydrated. Up next, thinking about joining House Atreides in Dune: Awakening? I’ve got you covered, check out our guide for everything you need to know before pledging your loyalty.
