Charms are one of the most slept-on systems in Roblox DIG, and honestly? I was guilty of ignoring them too, until I realized how game-changing the right setup can be. After hundreds of hours grinding (and rerolling more F-tier charms than I’d like to admit), I finally cracked the code and put together what I think is the ultimate charm progression guide. Most players burn through money grabbing every upgrade in a row, but the smarter path? It’s knowing which charms to skip, and which ones are absolute value picks. That’s what this guide is all about: helping you build a loadout that’s not just strong, but optimized.
Best Charm Progression Guide
Charms are equippable stat boosters that sit in your Equipment Bag and quietly make you 10x stronger, if you know how to use them. Some give flat Strength or Endurance. Others have Abilities like turning items into Plasma, parrying attacks, or healing you mid-dig. All stats roll from F to SS rank, and yes, you’ll end up chiseling away money just to go from B+ to A.
You can equip:
- 1 charm by default
- 2 charms at Level 10
- 3 charms at Level 25
And once you unlock that third slot, it’s game-changing. That’s when synergies start popping.

Charm Chisel & Re-Rolling Stats
Once you’ve got a bit of cash stacked, buy a Charm Chisel from the Appraiser (Bank area) for $25,000. It’s expensive, but permanent.
What does it do? It lets you re-roll the stats (called pips) on any charm, NOT the ability. Each reroll costs money based on rarity:
- Junk: ~$325
- Common: ~$400
- Unusual: ~$475
- Scarce: ~$550
- Legendary: ~$1,225
- Mythical: ~$1,450
- Divine: ~$1,675
- Boss: ~$1,900
You’ll want to chisel a good charm multiple times until you hit A or SS tier pips, especially on late-game charms. Trust me, the difference is huge.

Starter Loadout (Tutorial to Level 10)
You’ll start off with Training Glove, which gives Endurance + Luck. It’s basic, but better than nothing.
Once you hit the charm shop at spawn, go straight for:
Rock Pounder
- Strength on rock-type blocks
- Endurance + Boss Damage
- Only $500 from Fox Town
Pair it with Training Glove until you hit Level 10. Then run this combo:
- Training Glove + Rock Pounder
- Optional pick: Lucky Belt (extra Luck), but it falls off fast.

Early-Mid Game Power Charm: Energy Apparatus
This is THE most broken early-game charm in the game and still useful in late-game:
Energy Apparatus
- Huge Strength boost
- Only $1,200 from Traveling Merchant
The catch? He only shows up for 10 minutes, then disappears for 10. Keep an eye out for merchant pop-ups. I rerolled mine to double A-rank Strength. It boosts my digging speed more than some late-game gear.

Free Quest Charms You Shouldn’t Skip
If you don’t want to spend early-game cash, these charms are completely free, just time-consuming:
Farmer’s Hat (Verdant Vale)
- Talk to Silver in the barn
- Feed 3 pigs with apples (apple drop rate sucks, sorry)
- Gives Strength, Control, and Endurance
Ectoplasm Sleeve (Rooftop Graveyard)
- Go to Rooftop Woodlands → Graveyard → Talk to Sam Kobe
- Dig 3 legendary ghosts (takes ~1 hour RNG)
- Reward: Mythical Charm
- Stats: Control, Endurance, + Plasma Item Conversion (20% chance)
Ecto Sleeve is still viable late-game because of its unique money boost passive.
3-Charm Loadout: Mid to Late Game Combo (Digging)
Once you unlock Slot 3 at Level 25, you can start experimenting. Here’s a powerful trio I use for general digging:
- Energy Apparatus – Strength
- Ectoplasm Sleeve – Control, Endurance + Plasma
- Cauldron Hat – Boosts all Strength enchantments by 20%
- Bought from the Traveling Merchant too for $45,000
- Cauldron Hat debuffs Haste and Walk Speed, but the Strength boost more than makes up for it.
Swap Option: Replace Ecto Sleeve with Farmer’s Hat if you don’t care about the plasma bonus and want more raw stats.

Boss-Specific Charm Loadout
Fighting bosses? Here’s a go-to loadout that focuses on survivability and burst damage:
- Blueshroom Cap
- Complete the “Blueshroom Outfitting” quest in Azure Hollow, located above Fernhill Forest in Cinder Cavern.
- Endurance + Boss Damage
- This charm is an easy-to-miss mid-game gem, perfect for boss fights. The quest itself is quick and gives you a Mythical charm with solid stats for survivability and burst damage.
- Rock Pounder
- Still solid for boss bonus
- War Shield
- 50% chance to parry boss hits
- Bought from Combat Guild in Fernhill Forest for $10,000
- Can only be purchased if the player has defeated at least 3 Bosses.
Boss Shovels to Pair With
Ditch your shiny premium shovel. These boss-specific ones hit way harder:
- Venomous Shovel (from Basilisk boss)
- Arachnid Shovel (from Spider boss)
Perfect synergy with boss charm loadouts. They shred health bars.
Hidden Mechanics & Synergies
Some charm + shovel combos actually boost each other:
- Jam Shovel + Jar of Jam = More Haste
- Jar of Jam used to be meta, especially with Jam Shovel. But after the nerf, it’s not really worth the slot unless you’re a speed digger. Better options exist now for both raw damage and progression.
- Rock Shovel + Rock Pounder = Strength buff
- Prismatic Shovel + Prismatic Crown = Massive stat synergy
Also, keep an eye out for this: Tenacity Brace (Traveling Merchant – $17.5k)
- When you’re about to lose an item, it gives you a second chance
- Great for streaks or farming divine drops

Wrap-Up: Build Smarter, Dig Faster
That’s it for the charm progression guide! If there’s one thing I’ve learned after countless rerolls, merchant hunts, and boss wipes, it’s that charms aren’t just a side feature. The right loadout can literally double your progress speed, and the wrong one? Just drains your wallet. Hopefully this guide saves you some pain (and cash) by showing you which charms are actually worth chasing.
