So I jumped into this brand-new Roblox game called King Odyssey without knowing a thing. No guides, no codes, just me, some bandits, and a whole lot of trial and error. In this guide, I’ll walk you through everything you need to know as a beginner, from starting on the first island to unlocking one of the best weapons in the game: the Saber. Whether you just loaded in or you’re mid-grind and confused about progression, this guide will save you hours of guesswork.
Complete Beginner’s Guide (Everything You Need to Get Started)
King’s Odyssey is your classic Roblox One Piece-style bandit beater… but with a few twists that make it stand out.
- The level cap is 500, which sounds big but actually makes for a more reasonable grind.
- The visuals are clean, performance is smooth (after turning off camera shake), and the progression feels well-paced once you know where to go.
Right now, there are no working codes, but they’ll probably be added soon, keep an eye out.
First Things First: Settings & Early Tips
Before you start anything, go into your in-game settings and disable camera shake, trust me, it makes everything feel smoother.
The UI is clean and there’s a nice polish to the map design. There’s no quest level requirement either, which is a huge W. You’ll see a recommended level, but you can take any quest whenever.

Mastery System (Not Like Blox Fruits)
One of the biggest things I had to wrap my head around is how mastery works.
- In Blox Fruits, you grind mastery to unlock moves.
- In King’s Odyssey, moves are stamina-based. Your stamina increases when you invest points into melee.
- Mastery here boosts your raw damage, so a weapon at 0 mastery hits like a noodle compared to one at 100.
It’s simple, but you’ll feel the difference immediately once mastery starts leveling.
Starter Island Breakdown (Level 1–100)
Your grind starts here. There are a bunch of important NPCs on this island, so don’t miss them:
- Crafting NPC – for creating gear later
- Enchant NPC – to boost your weapon stats
- Katana Seller – for early damage boosts
- Treasure Hunter – trade gems/money for lucky chests (fruits!)
- Fishing Shop – buy a rod, earn random loot
- Raid NPC – currently disabled, but worth watching
You’ll want to grind up to level 100 here before heading to the Jungle.

Jungle Island + Grinding to Mid-Game
This is where things start opening up. Jungle Island introduces more quests and tougher enemies, and it’s also where you’ll start progressing toward the Saber questline.
King’s Odyssey has:
- Weapons
- Devil Fruits
- Specs (I’ll cover this in a separate guide since they generally require more grind and more experience with the game)
For now, we’ll focus on fruits and weapons. Devil Fruits are found via the Treasure Hunter NPC in the Starting Island (100,000 Beli = 1 Lucky Chest or 5 Gems = 1 Lucky Chest).
Light Fruit is arguably the best fruit for grinding right now.arguably the best fruit for grinding right now.

Shanks Saber Quest Guide (Step-by-Step)
Stumbled into this by accident, and it turned out to be the main late-game weapon grind. Here’s how to unlock Saber:
- Step 1: Seamstress NPC (Jungle Island)
- Find 8 flowers scattered across the Jungle.
- Turn them in to receive a Red Cloth.
- Step 2: Farm 100 Straws
- Destroy hay structures back on the Starter Island.
- They respawn, so keep rotating spots.
- Step 3: Craft the Straw Hat
- Now head back to Jungle Island to craft it.

- Step 4: Interact with the Rock
- Touch the rock in Jungle Island, then wait 1 hour IRL.
- You can leave the server, but I just stayed and grinded while waiting.

- Step 5: Pick up the Letter
- After an hour, a letter spawns on the rock.
- Deliver it to the Calligrapher NPC on the Desert Island.
Fighting Shanks (25% Saber Drop)
After turning in the letter, you’ll unlock the boss fight with Shanks. Then, make your way to Brock Island and talk to the SeberMaster’s Bodyguard NPC. If you have turned in the letter, you’ll get transported into the Shanks Boss Fight.
Shanks is very tanky and hits hard, bring friends! Respawn time is 20 minutes. But you can server hop to speed this up. Took me a few tries, but I finally got the Saber.
Once you get the Saber, go back to Starter Island and enchant it. Best enchant is Sharpness V. I got Sharpness III, which still gave me a solid damage boost. I was low on enchant stones anyway, so I rolled with it.

Wrap-Up: Worth The Grind?
Absolutely. King Odyssey has all the familiar mechanics we love in anime-inspired Roblox games, but it also brings:
- Smooth visuals
- Fast-paced combat
- Shorter grind ceiling (compared to other bandit beaters)
If you’re new, this guide should give you a solid jumpstart. If you’re mid-game, getting the Saber will take you to the next level. And if you’re already maxed out? Well… now it’s time to flex that Saber in PvP. If you want even more info beyond this guide, I highly recommend checking out the Official Trello for King’s Odyssey. It’s packed with useful stuff, NPC locations, weapons, powers, quest info, how to get fruits, and a whole lot more. Honestly, it helped me a ton while figuring things out, so give it a look if you’re feeling lost or just want to plan your next upgrade.
