In this guide, we’ll be going over everything you need to know about fishing in the game. Without further delay, let’s get into it!
Update 27 Fishing Complete Guide
While it may seem like fishing in Blox Fruits just involves getting a rod and bait, there’s actually a lot more to it. There are some key steps you’ll want to follow so that you can progress ideally and make money efficiently.
Keep in mind that currently there are quite a few bugs when it comes to progression and quests. Since the update is relatively new, you can expect this to be slowly fixed with time.
Fisherman NPC (Getting Fishing Rod)
Starting off, to begin your fishing journey, you’ll want to get a basic fishing rod and bait. To do this, you’ll want to visit any of the Fisherman NPCs in Blox Fruits. Currently, there are three that you can find in the game:
- First Sea (Sea 1)
- Frozen Village
- Second Sea (Sea 2)
- Docks 2
- Third Sea (Sea 3)
- Port Town.
For more specific locations, you can check out our angler & fisherman npc location guide.

After you find the Fisherman NPC, talk to him and he will give you the basic fishing rod and bait. This is what you need to get started with your fishing.
Additionally, you can also select the Shop option, where you’ll find some key options. Here is a breakdown of everything in the Fisherman shop:
- Buy Bait
- Allows you to purchase different rarities of bait
- At the start, you will only have the Basic Bait
- You can unlock more bait from quests and progressing with Fishing
- Sell Fish
- You can sell fish you accumulate
- Selling is important because if you inventory is full of fish, you won’t be able to purchase any more
Once you have the fishing rod and bait, you can get started with fishing and increase your fishing level. However, don’t get stuck with this step. There are more keys steps and NPCs to visit – provided you reach a certain level of mastery.
You can check your Fishing Level by interacting with the Fisherman and clicking on Fishing Index.

Angler NPC (Quests, Rods & More)
The next step is to find the Angler NPC as he will actually help you further progress with fishing. Keep in mind though that you will need to be at least Fishing Level 20 to interact and get the options from him.

- First Sea (Sea 1)
- Sky Island
- Second Sea (Sea 2)
- Docks 3 (Green Zone)
- Third Sea (Sea 3)
- Hydra Town.

Currently, there are 4 Angler quests, which all have an equally random chance of being picked. There is a 15 minutes cooldown between each quest after you accept it – whether you complete it or not.
Completing one quest will grant you x1 Trust with the Angler NPC. Depending on how many trusts you have, you will unlock different types of rods and baits.
