Developers of Conan Exiles are now adding microtransactions, as well as the battle pass, in order to gather support to continue the game. Just like in other live service games, you can purchase cosmetics and other items that will be then tied to your account for use.
The big question is of course; is the battle pass worth it? There are three things you need to consider before purchasing it, or even purchasing anything in their online marketplace:
- Do you love this game?
- Do you want to support the developers?
- Are you going to invest time into this game for the foreseeable future?
Online purchases in games like Conan Exiles can often make a player question their decision. Did you make a good financial choice? Am I really going to spend time playing this game to justify my purchase? It all depends on your commitment to a game.
The infamous game called Marvel’s Avengers has a marketplace where you can purchase skins. It is where the developers earn revenue to continue support. Gamers outside of the Avengers community will often ridicule them for spending money on a game that has little to no content. But that doesn’t bother the Avengers community, because they love the game and want to support the developers and get more content.
If you want to support the game and are planning on playing the game till it loses support and inevitably shuts down, then yes, buy the battle pass. It is absolutely worth it if you are a fan of the Conan universe and of the game itself.
However, if you do not see yourself playing this game consistently and are already losing interest, then it is advised to not buy the battle pass. Instead, use that money in your other interests. That way, there is value in purchase.
