Dreams are a way to escape the confines of reality. In dreams, we can be whoever we want to be or have anything we want to happen. It’s one of the many times in our life where we feel at ease (Unless we have nightmares. Those aren’t good). In Genshin Impact, there is a World Quest called While the Dream Lingers World Quest that deals with an NPC who seems to have lost their dream. Whether it’s their ability to dream, or an “ambition” kind of dream, we look into what happened and hopefully help the poor fellow out.
While the Dream Lingers World Quest – Genshin Impact
The World Quest can be found just south of Chatrakam Cave and north west of Sumeru City. You can find the exact location by using the image above.
The NPC’s name is Javi, and he tells you that he’s looking for a Dream Box, which is basically a box full of Javi’s dreams as a child. He says that he buried his Dream Box because it was a childhood game he and his friends played.
He then goes on to explain that they all had their own Dream Boxes, and that they would come together in the future to dig out their Dream Boxes and open them. However, from the looks of it, Javi was the only one who remembered to dig out his Dream Box, seeing as he is the only one in the area. The problem here is that he can’t seem to find his Dream Box, so he asks you for help, which you agree.
Javi then says that he buried his Dream Box besides a tree. That isn’t very helpful because the area is full of trees. So, you have to go around and search the area. You will see these shining golden lights emanating from the ground. These are your markers in the world to investigate. They can be found on the mini map as well, but as areas of interest.
By the third marker, you will then find Javi’s Dream Box. Take the box back to Javi.
Bringing back the Dream Box, you find out that Javi also found one, but it belonged to his friend, Ami. You then show him his Dream Box, which he opens up. You both find out that Javi’s dream was to be a Vanara, which he quickly dismisses as childish.
He then tells you that he felt bad that he opened Ami’s box and wants to make it up to her. He tells you that she wanted to be a florist. Assuming that she did become one, he wants you to get him some flower seeds and meet him beside Jahangir’s shop, where Ami works.
Your next objective is to get one bag of Sumeru Rose Seeds. The easy way to do this is to purchase it from Tubby at the Serenitea Pot. One bag will cost 5 Realm Currency.
With the Sumeru Rose Seed in hand, you will then teleport to Port Osmos where the shop is.
From where you spawned in, you can jump off to the side and glide to the area. Once you’re close enough, you will then trigger a cutscene. Let the cutscene play out and you will then get the achievement “Where Have You Gone My Dream”.
