The RGM-79 GM is the child of the RX-78-2 Gundam model. This Mobile Suit was mass produced to help the Earth Federation fight in the One Year War. Debuting in the original Mobile Suit: Gundam, the GM became iconic due to its plain, yet memorable design. Also because this Mobile Suit is always getting destroyed half of the time when fighting. The GM Mobile Suit features a lot of pilots, all of whom are either dead or moved on to better Mobile Suits, but what makes this unit a good addition to the roster of Gundam Evolution? Let’s find out.
GM Guide – Gundam Evolution
The GM Mobile Suit is a close-range unit, with 800 HP and one dash limit. But, it features a shield defense of 1300. While GM may seem incredibly weak (because it is) due to its measly 800 HP and one dash limit, the shield makes up for it.
GM’s main weapons are the Beam Spray Gun and its shield. When using the main action, GM will fire the Beam Spray Gun (which looks like a dinky little pistol) at its enemies. The fire rate is not that great, and you can definitely get downed before you can chip away half of someone’s health. That’s why the shield is there.
When you use the sub action, the shield is placed in front of you to protect you. You can move around and shoot as well. However, taking enough damage will bring down the shield.
Speaking of shield, GM also has a skill called Shield Bash. This makes GM charge a very short distance with its shield up, and any Mobile Suit that gets hit with the shield can get knocked back while getting damaged. Sadly, there is no other effect besides the knockback. Not even a stun effect.
GM features two types of grenades as skills as well: Detonator Bomb and the Repair Grenade. As the name suggests, the Repair Grenade is a skill where any unit near the effect of the grenade will be healed, including allies.
The Detonator Bomb is your C4, which you can use to deal large damage to an enemy unit when nearby by pressing the detonate button.
For GM’s G Maneuver, GM throws a bunch of Homing Mines on the ground. The Homing Mines will remain idle until it detects nearby enemies. Once it does, the Homing Mines will then fly towards the detected enemy Mobile Suits and detonate when hit.
If only one enemy Mobile Suit is detected, it can be a guaranteed kill.
GM is an all-around class that is used to introduce people into the game. But, if an experienced player does play GM, then it can deal massive damage to the enemy team.
However, it’s hard to actually deal any real damage with the Beam Spray Gun, but the number of skills that is available for the GM to use, it surely makes up for the low damage input.
