Warhaven How to Play Spike Class Guide

Medieval fighting games is a fairly new genre in video games compared to others, games like For Honor and Chivalry really made the genre more popular. Now we have games like Warhaven that will release soon for the general public and right now has a closed Beta that you can try to join. The game features multiple classes with different weapons, stats and playstyles that have their own strengths and weaknesses. The game is a team vs team action game where you try to push the enemy points as you try to defeat the enemy team. In this guide we’ll show you the basics of playing the Spike Class.

How to Play Spike Class Guide In Warhaven

The Spike class in the game is a spear wielding character, which makes it strange to call it a Spike instead of a spearman. Perhaps they were going for the “Pike” name but realized the spear was too short to be a pike, thus it’s a spike. The Spike’s normal attack is a simple spear thrust, but the further away your enemy is the more damage you deal.

The Spike class has a lot of nice damage-focused abilities, here is a list of the classes’ abilities:

  • Impale: Your main damaging ability besides your normal attacks. In fact, you have to hold your normal attack to charge impale. This ability ignores defenses and if you kill someone with it the cooldown resets.
  • Sprint Attack: A great opener, a thrusting sprint attack that can be then chained to other attacks soon after.
  • Spear Smash: Your guard break ability. It staggers them for a bit and is a great way to get a few hits through their defenses.
  • Spear Guard: If you block and use Spear Guard you take a quick step back, it can be chained with Impale for a devastating counter-attack.

With the bonus damage when at your maximum reach, and the Impale that can easily go through defenses, the Spike has a set playstyle. Keep them at range but don’t get too close because you’ll lose damage potential. Impale is your best friend and Spear Guard + Impale can catch a lot of people off-guard.

Congratulations you now know the basics of playing a Spike in Warhaven. Now go out there and try the class yourself! Many thanks to BloodThirstyLord for tips on how to play this class.
