In SUPER PEOPLE, you assume control of a super-soldier, each of whom comes equipped with their own set of specialized skills and powers. Fight it out with the other players and see who can survive until you’re the only one or your team is the last one left. That is the description of the game which sounds very generic and like almost every type of battle royale game out there. We’ll see if the game is any better and if the hype is really precedented or not. Let’s find out.
Is The Hype Precedented? – Super People Review
Super People is a battle royale game that is more or less very similar to and generic type of battle royale. It is slightly different and players as of recently have been actually leaving a lot of positive reviews on it.
To be better understanding and clear, we will split the things that this game has going in Pros and Cons.
Pros
Super People is actually a very fun game and has a lot of unique things going for it. Let’s see some of the best things about it.
Interesting New Start
This game starts out as a normal battle royale game. You will spawn inside a flying plane/helicopter and then just roam over a very big map. You will see the locations on top of you, and each time you will be moving on a different line and section of the map.
The new interesting start is that every time you will get assigned with a new class. These classes have very unique and distinct types of abilities. This is where the game kind of breaks the same old rhythm of the battle royale.
You will get a different playstyle with each game that you will play. Even better yet, whenever you see an enemy in front of you, you will have to realize what type of character are you playing against. This is something that is really fun and players love it.
Each hero has their own abilities and passives. You will also get an ultimate ability that will le you level up throughout the game and use it only in critical situations. You can actually level up by finding vials around the world.
This is a very interesting take that Super People has. You will actually become stronger and stronger as you get to the later stages of the game. When you finally get to that last 1v1, you will both be extremely powerful and buffed up.
Crafting System
Unlike other battle royales where you will find all the items that you need on the ground, in Super People you will actually get items that you can craft with.
You will get papers, minerals, resources and etc. You will actually use these things to upgrade or build an item that you didn’t have. It isn’t as generic as RNG luck where you can find a level 3 Helmet that will make you win the game by being lucky.
Fast Gun Fights
The gunfights are actually very fun and the most enjoyable aspect of Super People. They are very quick and crisp. Meaning that you will see a lot of activities happening at once. This feels amazing and often times you will remember a gunfight after a long time.
The only thing about it is that you will need to be quick and come up with shooting ideas and tricks at the moment, but setting up and planning for them takes more time and is more strategic.
So although you will have extremely fast gunfights, the overall tempo is a bit slow-paced.
Slower Pace
Super People moves at a slow, methodical pace. If you know how to play PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, you should be able to get the hang of Super People as well. The technique is that there is classes, like Valorant agents or Apex Legends characters.
The Driver can call up a huge monster truck, and the ultimate ability of the Strike Force lets him run really fast. So every class has a set of nine skills that can be mixed and matched. There’s just one catch: you can’t choose your class without having to spend in-game currency, so you’re at the mercy of chance.
We have placed this in the Pros section because even though it is a slower-paced game, the gunfights will feel much better when they happen.
Cons
Now let’s go over the bad things about Super People.
Shop
That brings us to talk about the shop and in-game currency. Why is the entire gaming rhythm heading to the dark side with this crazy free-to-play but pay-to-win kind of game?
The shop is what makes Super People very bad to play. Players have raised their voices and talked about this game as it is a very fun experience to play as if you haven’t played any other battle royale games. But then comes the shop.
You will need to pay for literally everything. Even to unlock your favorite class and its skills, you will have to grind your way to get everything that you’ll need. It is a very big letdown for all newcomers and if you are thinking about getting this game, this is a very big minus.
As of late, we have been seeing a lot of changes that are positive, and possibly the devs are hearing us and working on fixing the Shop. This is very good news indeed. Only time will tell if they will really fix it for us.
Invasive
Before you enter a game, you will need to give a lot of your information. This would almost make you feel as though you are being scammed. You will be required to give your phone number, it will scan your drives and a lot of more things.
This actually will affect your PC and might actually cause your audio and performance to lag and stutter. If you do not have a problem with this, this shouldn’t be an issue. But we feel as though there are too many concessions as it is.
Bugs and Optimization
A year has passed and the developers still haven’t optimized the game yet. And the thing is, the visuals aren’t all that great. It is very mediocre and most of the time nothing breathtaking at all. You will have felt as though you have played this game before.
But even with those low graphics, this game has terrible optimizations. You can have the strongest PC ever and still get random FPS low spikes at certain moments. This is not good at all, especially for a game where you will need to be fast-paced and every second counts.
Other than that, there are still some bugs that have been left out since the release date. Players are still sometimes stuck in trees, rocks, and even inside the house there have been clipping issues where players are looking through the walls.
These are all things that can be fixed, but a lot of time has passed and some issues are still here.
Cheaters
Surprise surprise. Super People has cheaters, who would have guessed that a F2P battle royale would have cheaters in it?
Well, we have accepted cheaters in these types of games. But sometimes the devs need to work on it a whole lot more. There are the occasional wallhacker and speed hacker here and there. Sometimes you will get an aimbotter too.
Visuals Feel Copied
The HUD, the graphics, the movement… we can go on. But it feels as though you are playing other types of Battle Royale game, and you know which one we are talking about. But if this is a problem for you, expecting to get at least something new and fresh, well this will be a big minus for you.
Overall & Rating
The developers have been very active and they have begun promising refunds for everything that has happened since early release and pre-release dates. They have promised that they will change the Shop and the microtransactions. Surprisingly, a lot of players have been saying the same thing too.
If that is the case, we will just have to wait a while, and possibly this game will turn out better and for the good. Until then we will have to wait.
Super People Review
Summary
As it is right now, Super People is a 3 out of 5. It is your average battle royale which is very fun because of the gunfights and classes but still feels as though it is very generic.
Thank you for checking out our review! We hope that this game you the closest overview of it. It is a fun battle-royale, so if you’re stuck on the fence, you can give it a try. Have fun!
