Pikachu is an Electric-type Pokemon. It is a small, chubby rodent that is covered in yellow fur with two horizontal brown stripes on its back and a lightning bolt-shaped tail. It evolves from Pichu if you have a high friendship with it.

Pikachu also evolves into a Raichu if you give it a Thunderstone. You can get Pikachu after finishing the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet tutorial.

When you are done with the tutorial and the school quests, you can freely travel around the Paldea region. You can now go to the location where you can catch Pikachu.

West of the starting town is another town called Cortondo (West) this is where you will find Pikachus in the wild. You can fast-travel to any of the two Pokemon Centers in the town.

You can find Pikachu southwest of the town. However, looking for it can be tricky as it is a rarely seen Pokemon.

But there’s a trick to it; what you can do is make a sandwich. It is a new mechanic added to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet which can attract certain types of Pokemons.

Make a sandwich that has Encounter Power: Electric to increase the spawn chance of Electric Pokemon.
