There are NPCs in the Pokemon game that you can either battle or feature. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, these NCPs will have a yellow chat box on top of them.
If they are in the overworld, they will battle with you. Otherwise, you can trade Pokemons with them, check your friendship level, and many more.
Gengar, Wooper, and Galarian Meowth are some of the Pokemon you can obtain by trading with an NPC, and we will show you how to do it.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, How to Get Gengar, Wooper, and Galarian Meowth
Besides NPCs, you can also get a special gift if you attend a class in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. As a Uva Academy or Naranja Academy student, you will need to take classes.
You can get Gengar and an original form of Wooper by trading. On the other hand, you can get Galarian Meowth as a gift from the Academy.

Gengar
In Levincia, just close to the gym arena, you will find an NPC willing to trade her Haunter called Hauntikins for a Pincurchin.
Haunter is one of the Pokemon that will evolve if you trade it. Once you trade your Pincurchin and receive Haunter, it will evolve into a Gengar.
Wooper
To get an original form of Wooper, go to the fountain in Cascarrafa. You will find an NPC that will trade her original Wooper called Manchester for a Paldean Wooper.
Galarian Meowth
You can receive a Galarian Meowth if you pass the languages finals and help Mr. Salvatore take care of an injured Pawmi.
You can take the language class in the Academy. You must obtain a gym badge if you cannot attend the next language class.
