The new Chickens are simply amazing when it comes to choosing a hobby and a very fun activity that players can do. In this guide, we shall be giving you all the information that you will need to better become a Chicken farmer in the Mistlands Update. Let’s get started.
Valheim Mistlands Update – The Ultimate Guide To Chickens
How To Get Chickens
To get started with raising chickens, the first thing you’ll need to do is locate some eggs. The dwarven merchant Haldor, who lives in the Black Forest, is the one who sells these items to customers.
Because you need two hens before you can begin breeding, you need be sure to carry a minimum of 3000 Coins with you. One egg will cost you 1500 Coins, and you need at least that much to get started.
There is a catch, though, and that is the fact that Haldor will not sell chicken eggs to you until after you have successfully slain Yagluth. If you haven’t already done so, the eggs won’t show up in his inventory when he searches for them. Even though chickens do not naturally appear in the Mistlands, they are considered to be a creature of the region for the sake of advancement.
How Do Eggs Work
You will need these 2 things to make the Eggs work:
- Fire – hatch the eggs nearby the fire to get some warmth elements that will help
- Roof – make sure that you will roof on top of you to speed up the process of hatching
Hovering over an egg allows one to determine whether or not it is actually set to be hatched. The written material needs to make it clear that the egg is “warm.” Before the first chicken comes, there will be a delay of around 1 day in the game. Stacking eggs prevents them from hatching, which is a very crucial point to remember.
Hold down the Control key and click the left mouse button to choose a single egg rather than tossing a pile of 2 eggs that gives the appearance of a single egg on the ground.
Then just build a wall around them. Also, a good thing to know is that the eggs cannot break even if you throw them.
Breeding Chickens & Food
After around 2 or 3 days of playing in the game, they will mature into adult characters known as Hens on their own. You shouldn’t be concerned about that name; even though it seems that all of your hens are females, they are still capable of having kids and small baby chickens.
Now just give them enough food and warmth. If you want the chickens to stop breeding, simply take away their warmth and they will only provide you with eggs.
This is what you will need to feed them so they can give you the most amount of eggs:
- Birch Seeds
- Beech Seeds
- Carrot Seeds
- Onion Seeds
- Turnip Seeds
