As you make your way through Hogwarts, you’ll come across many doors you can get through. These locked doors stand between you and some great gear, gold, and quests. Naturally, you’ll want to get through these doors and claim what could potentially be yours.
Luckily, as you make your way through the game, you learn more spells and realize that the doors that once seemed impenetrable are easily opened. You, of course, first have to know which spell to use.
This guide will show you how to unlock all three levels of locks in the game.
Alohomora
To unlock doors, you’ll first need to learn the Alohomora spell, a spell that unlocks doors, windows, and chests.
To unlock it, you have to complete The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament main story quest. After beating it, you’ll have unlocked Alohomora to unlock level one doors.
The Lockpicking Mini Game
To unlock doors, you must complete a mini-game, which starts after you cast the Alohomora spell on locks.
In this mini-game, you must guide to sparks, a red with the right thumbstick and a green with the left. Both stick control dials, the left for the outer dial and the right for the inner.
To win the mini-game, you must move the thumbsticks to the right spots, hold them there, and then the door will unlock.
This will get a little tougher for higher-level locks, but you will quickly get used to the game before long.
Unlocking Level 2 and Level 3 Doors
While unlocking the level one door is great, the best stuff lies behind the level two and level three doors.
To improve your Alohomora spell, you need to gather Demiguise Moons and bring them to Gladwin Moon in The Man Behind The Moons side quest. In return, he teaches you the more powerful versions of the spell.
