Sometimes you just want to deviate from the main questline once the game lets you do so. And you should! There are plenty of things to do, sights to see, and hats to collect!

No self-respecting wizard or witch should be seen outside of the school grounds without proper headwear. However, the problem arises when you don’t have any money, a commodity that you definitely will be hurting for early on in the game.

But worry not, there’s more than one way to get a hat without having to pay for it! No, you’re not going to steal from a shop. Calm down.

How to Get Classic Sorcerer Hat | Hogwarts Legacy

You already know at this point that exploration is key in the wizarding world.

At this point, you’ve probably turned the entirety of Hogwarts inside-out due to your incessant hunting for clothing so let’s head on over to Hogsmeade for a change.

The chest is in an easy location to get to, if you’re using the stone bridge on the south side of the map then keep following the river to your left.

If you find yourself standing in front of Hog’s Head then you’re at the right place.

Go around the back and you should be able to find the chest containing the Classic Sorcerer Hat resting on top of a worn-out wooden platform.

Clearly, someone didn’t want it anymore so who are you to not take it? And that’s how you find hats for free!

Now go have another look around Hogsmeade and see if there’s more you can find. It doesn’t have to be a hat, you may find other pieces of clothing or even some Legendary Gear if you go and survey the area again!

Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
