As the main protagonist of any game, expect pretty much anything to happen to you. Attacked by enemy wizards? Yep. Attacked by monsters? Oh yeah. Rescuing people? What am I, a superhero?… but yeah, that too.

Hogwarts Legacy is no exception to that rule because as the main protagonist, you have to go through trials and tribulations for that sweet, sweet character development.

In this guide, we are going to be focusing on Rescuing Rococo, a side quest in Hogwarts Legacy that will reward you with some goodies if you do so.

Speak to the Vendor in Bainburgh

The side quest can be found in Bainburgh. To start it, you need to talk to the vendor. You can track the side quest so it can lead you to the exact location.

You can also use our interactive map that shows the entirety of the Hogwarts Legacy map.

Speak to Agnes Coffey, who is the vendor here. She tells you that her pet Niffler, Rococo, ran away and she’s worried.

As an upstanding student of Hogwarts, you lend her a hand and help find Rococo.

She tells you that she and Niffler stumbled upon Henrietta’s Hideaway, which is where Rococo ran off.

Head on over to Henrietta’s Hideaway (which will be marked on your map as part of the objective), and enter.

Be warned that Ashwinders are all around the area, so you will be fighting a few of them here.

When you first enter Henrietta’s Hideaway, there will be a statue in the room with an altar and a bowl in front of it.

Cast Incendio to the bowl and the statue will flip around, showing a cubed object.

Place the cube with the fire symbol on the platform on the left.

On the right, there should be a cube with the ice symbol on it.

You will need to cast Incendio on the left cube, then cast Glacius on the right cube.

Doing so will reveal a door that will let you continue.

Follow the marker deep into the hideaway. There will be Ashwinders everywhere, so you can either fight them or simply sneak past them by using the Disillusionment spell.

Eventually, you will reach a room full of Ashwinders. You will have no choice but to fight here, as there is a puzzle that you need to solve.

There should be one Ashwinder that is hiding behind the wall here. You can reveal their location by using Revelio. Approach the wall and quickly take them out.

With the enemies done and gone, go inside the hidden room and you should find a cube with a new symbol here.

Use Wingardium Leviosa and bring it with you up the stairs.

You should be able to jump off the ledge and back into the main room.

However, before doing that, look across the room and you will see the cube with a feather symbol on it. Use Accio to bring it to you.

With both cubes now in your possession, place the cube with the feather symbol on the platform on the left, and the one with what looks like wings on it on the platform to the right.

Afterward, cast Wingardium Leviosa on the cube on the left, and Confringo on the right.

This will unlock the door forward.

You will be able to find the Niffler inside the room here. Use your bag to suck the Niffler in and capture it.

Return to Agnes Coffey

Go back to Agnes Coffey and speak to her. You can give back Rococo free of charge, or you can get a fee. There’s a third option where you can keep Rococo, but that’s only if you’re going for the 100% evil playthrough.

Choose what you want and the side quest will be completed.

Huge thanks to Games Guides Channel for the information on how to complete the Rescuing Rococo side quest. If you want to see how the entire side quest plays out, you can check out their YouTube video.

He's also a huge fan of superhero media like Marvel and DC, so he's practically played games like Spider-Man and the Batman Arkham games. He's also into multiplayer games that strike his fancy, specifically games like Call of Duty and Fortnite. Most especially Fortnite since he can play as different Marvel and DC characters in a battle royale against other famous and iconic characters.
