Hogwarts Legacy: What Happens if You Betray Sebastian After Ending vs Not Turn Him In

Even the brightest wizards can be tempted by the Dark Arts.

No one can deny that the Dark Arts are the most powerful form of magic in the Wizarding World. After all, you have spells like Avada Kadavra that can kill someone when hit. Not to mention that it is completely unblockable.

Then there’s Crucio, which causes immense pain to whoever gets hit. If you are subjected to Crucio long enough, you will be driven insane.

The Dark Arts have power that tempts those who want it, and Sebastian of Hogwarts Legacy is a victim of that temptation.

What will you do for your friend that kills his uncle?

What Happens if You Betray Sebastian After Ending vs Not Turn Him In – Hogwarts Legacy

For context, Sebastian has a twin sister that has fallen ill. He becomes desperate in finding ways to save her and he tries to find a relic that he thinks can cure her. However, getting the relic is a hard task, as you and Sebastian must go through a cave that is filled with monsters of all sorts.

In the end, you and Sebastian get the relic, but his uncle, Solomon, stops him. Solomon destroys the relic, fearing that it may do more harm than good for Anne, the twin sister.

This enrages Sebastian to the point that he casts Avada Kedavra on Solomon, who was too weak to dodge it. He dies once the spell makes contact, with Anne witnessing the whole thing.

Sebastian is now plagued with guilt over murdering his uncle, and sorrow as his sister may never forgive him.

You and Ominis Gaunt talk about whether to turn Sebastian in or not. After all, he did use the Dark Arts to murder his own uncle.

You have two choices: betray Sebastian and turn him in, or don’t turn him in.

#1 Betray Sebastian

If you choose to betray Sebastian, you will get a message from Ominis to meet him in the Undercroft.

Speaking to Ominis reveals that Sebastian has been expelled from Hogwarts and will be facing a trial at the Ministry.

No doubt that since he is a student who murdered his own family with a Dark spell, he will be sentenced to Azkaban to be imprisoned and “rehabilitated”.

Ominis is obviously distraught over the loss of his best friend, and he tells you that even Anne is torn about the fate of Sebastian. But now that Sebastian no longer attends Hogwarts, it is possible that this may be the last time we ever see him.

#2 Don’t Turn Him In

If you decide not to turn in Sebastian, Hogwarts will continue and you will soon get a message from Sebastian to meet with him in the Undercroft.

When you speak to him, he reveals that Anne does not want to turn him in, but she refuses to speak to him, saying that the guilt of murdering his own uncle is punishment enough.

Sebastian obviously feels guilty about what he did, but all he can do now is move on with his life and strive every day to do better. Be better.

He will carry that guilt with him forever, but you can assure him that maybe one day, Anne will come around and come to forgive Sebastian for his actions. With that, your tenure at Hogwarts continues.
