Ligthfall is only a week away, which means you have a week to figure out if you will be getting the expansion or not. Some Destiny 2 players don’t really care much for the story and would rather play the free-to-play portion of the game. On the other hand, we have Destiny 2 players who are hardcore fans and have been playing since the first Destiny game.
If you are looking to purchase Lightfall, then you might be torn between the Standard and Deluxe edition.

Difference Between Standard and Deluxe
Destiny 2 Lightfall is Bungie’s latest expansion to their live service game, and people are looking forward to it. With Halo Infinite not really providing much content, people are flocking over to Halo’s original developer and seeing what they have in store.
Now it’s obvious that if you get Lightfall, you will get the main campaign of the expansion, but what else do you get? Here is a list of things you get for purchasing the Standard Edition:
- New Campaign
- New Strand Power
- Neptune Destination
- New Raid
- New Exotic Gear
- Pre-order bonuses
- Exotic Ghost
- Legendary Emblem
- Access to the current Season at the time of your purchase
This is what you get for getting the Standard Edition. As you can see, there’s a lot of cool stuff already, but what about the Deluxe Edition? What do you get for coughing up more cash?
Well, here’s a list:
- Everything from the Standard Edition
- Access to all Seasons
- Lightfall Exotic Sparrow
- Lightfall Dungeon Key
- Rahool’s Secret Stash (Once per season)
- Pre-order bonuses
- Quicksilver Storm Exotic Auto Rifle, Catalyst, and OrnamentExotic EmoteExotic Ghost
- Legendary Emblem
As you can see, the Deluxe Edition has even more content to offer, but you will have to pay even more for it. That now begs the initial question: which edition should you buy?
In all honesty, you should really think about how much time you’re going to spend playing the game. Will you be playing for the story and nothing else? Maybe grind some exotics and reach maximum power and call it a day? Then I would suggest you get the Standard Edition.
But if you’re a hardcore Destiny 2 player that has already spent too much time playing the game and plans to invest more time into it, then the Deluxe Edition is for you.
