The Forest is back with an even bigger island to play around in! Things have clearly changed as your hardened team of survivors falls victim to the same obelisk that took down your plane in the previous installment.
Unlike last time however you have more things to work with at the beginning, the only thing you need to worry about now is your partner who’s constantly in a vegetative state, and what to do with all the things scattered around.
If you no longer remember how to feed yourself well worry no longer! Everything in this guide will be laid out for you to help survive your first day.
Sons Of The Forest – How To Cook
It is no doubt that cooking is going to be your primary objective once the game grants you control of your survival. You can only survive on berries so much until you chug the wrong one and abruptly end your island getaway so here’s a guide on how to cook!
Once you open your emergency pack and help Kelvin get his bearings, whip out your tactical axe and find a rabbit or turtle for you to munch on.
After extracting the meat from them the next thing you want to do is to gather some sticks, you can do this by swinging around the small trees you see or just picking some off the ground.
Open your inventory next to equip the sticks you collected and face the ground, you should see some dotted lines showing two sticks. Interact with that to snap the stick in your hand in two, and use your lighter next to light up the sticks.
Now you can line up the meat you got earlier against the fire, wait for a few minutes for the food to cook and you’re done!
You can also do some fine dining and eat them blue steak style since you won’t get any negative debuffs from behaving like a caveman.
Another method would be to leave them on a drying rack but that’s for later!
