Sons of the Forest having guns makes this game instantly better than the original for me. While The Forest is an excellent survival game that did not feature any sort of guns (Flintlock Pistol does not count since it takes 2 years to reload), I really did wish there were guns in the game.
But that didn’t stop me from having fun with the game.
However, Sons of the Forest having guns is already a big upgrade. Even more so knowing that you can change ammo types.
In this guide, we show you how to switch ammo for your guns.
Sons Of The Forest – How to Change Ammo Type
Changing the ammo on your gun is easy.
When you get a gun and have more than one type of ammo for it, you don’t have to go to your inventory and change it there. Instead, equip the gun you have (shotgun for example), and look down. You will see the R button pop up, as well as a symbol above it.
Press R and the ammo on your gun will switch.
This applies to all of your guns, so you can switch ammo on the fly as long as you have the gun equipped and you have more than one type of ammo available in your inventory.
