There’s a lot of survival crafting games out there with zombies ever since DayZ became famous. With it came a horde of cheap zombie games that flooded the early days of Steam green light. Today that trend has been done for a while now, thank heavens, and now we can look forward to actual good zombie survival games!

Above Snakes is an interesting take in the Zombie Survival game genre as its whole map is made with tiles that you place yourself. You unlock different tiles as the game goes by and with each new tile having new resources for you to gather. In this guide we’ll show you how to place or make new tiles!

How To Place OR Make New Tiles In Above Snakes

So in Above Snakes you’ll start off with just a small tile to work on. There you’ll learn to gather resources and learn about the story of the game and the more you play the more the game opens up. For the game to really open up though you’ll need to add more tiles to your game world, so how do you do that?

On the lower right of your screen you’ll find your stats. That’s where you see your food, water, sanity and fatigue stats. Above it is a bar that increases every time you gather resources.

When the bar fills up you can add a new worldpiece of tile into the game! You’ll know if you can when it says “A new Worldpiece is ready.” Now all you need to do is press the C Key.

This will send you to the worldpiece menu where you can choose what type of worldpiece to place, once you pick one you can then place it. Remember that only certain tiles connect with each other, for example Pine Forest tiles only connect with any tile that is half Pine Forest.

To unlock more tile types you’ll need to research them in the Cartography Table. Each new tile often comes with new resources that you will need to progress the game!

Congratulations you now know how to add or make new tiles in Above Snakes, now go out there and make new tiles to continue your adventure!
