Increasing your chances of survivability should always be your number one priority in games like Dredge.
You can further your chances of not becoming someone’s dinner by doing a few favors for the locals who’re crazy enough to even send you out to the ocean in the first place.
So what do they want from you and why are they so fascinated with the creatures of the deep?
Your question’s as good as mine, sadly the only answers I will be giving are the ones you need in order to finish the quest called “A Place to Rest”, okay maybe I’ll give a few more, so stick around a while!
A Place to Rest Quest Guide | DREDGE
A Place to Rest is one of the quests given to you by the local Builder over at the Greater Marrow. It’ll be available early on in the game so best do that first while the tides are still in a forgiving mood.
Interact with her a number of times until you forget what you’re supposed to be doing, then she’ll tell you to gather a few materials she’ll need before going to Steel Point.
To do this quest you need to have Dredging unlocked, if you haven’t yet then talk to the Collector first and accept his offer to unlock the necessary equipment.
After that, you’ll need to gather two units of lumber and scrap that need to be brought to the island of Steel Point.
You can go as far as Steel Point to gather the materials the builder is asking for, sail around the island and find some cloth lying around the ocean floor.
Some say you can even exploit these resources before and after you finish the quest so you might want to remember that after you’ve gathered enough to finish the Builder’s pursuit.
After you finish gathering the materials she asked for simply park next to the dock and dump the scrap and lumber you found near the shore. Go back to the Marrow and tell her about your progress and she’ll ask to be ferried back to Steel Point so she can start working again.
And that’s how you finish A Place to Rest!
You’re basically just introduced to the whole concept of salvaging goods you find underwater, also you’ll be rewarded two research parts for your trouble so remember to save those whenever the skies get too cloudy!
