There’s a new game out there and it’s Dredge. It’s a game about a fisherman and his fishing boat doing some normal fishing in a not so normal archipelago. Once you start the game you slowly notice that the place isn’t right and that there’s a mystery to be found. The question is, should you solve the mystery, or should some things be left unknown?
The game has a lot of places that you can go with your small fishing trawler. The problem is that some places are blocked by obstacles like large rocks or tree trunks, and you’ll need some explosives for that. Here’s how to get Explosives in the game!
How To Get Explosives In DREDGE
If you’ve been adventuring around Dredge, you might have found these areas that are blocked off by rocks. When you get near the rocks you can interact with it, and it’ll say you’ll need explosives. To get explosives you’ll first need to have the ability to Dredge. Once you have the Dredging equipment you can then head to Gale Cliffs.
There you’ll see a small village that is run down, dock on it and you’ll be able to talk to the Hermit there. Talk to him and accept his quest to find his family Crest. The Crest can be found to the southeast, but you might need to circle around to go there.
You know you’re in the right place if there’s a large waterfall, there you’ll find a dredging spot. Go there and fish out the family crest, just be careful since there’s a sea monster in the area.
One way to take care of the sea monster is to lead it going out of the islands. Once it’s tired of chasing you, go back to the dredging spot as fast as possible and try to get the crest fast!
Once you have the family crest you can then talk to the Hermit, he’ll tell you to go to the nearby town of Ingfell. There you can find the Retired Whaler, his brother. Show him the crest and tell him his little brother wants to go home.
He’ll ask you to blow up some boulders leading to the place where you find the crest. It’ll be marked with yellow flags. Just go up next to it, interact with it and it’ll blow that obstacle away. Then you’ll need to go back to the Retired Whaler and tell him the task is done.
He’ll then ask you to go back to the Hermit. Talk to the Hermit and finally put him on your ship and go back to the Retired Whaler. Both of them will meet and the Whaler will thank you.
At that point the quest is done, and the Whaling Yards will be open. If you go, there for the first time the Retired Whaler will give you a single packed explosive. You can then buy as many packed explosives as possible from the Retired Whaler!
