Major locations in Dead Island 2 like the Halperin Hotel are always fun to visit due to all of the loot that’s up for grabs. But sometimes, you just don’t feel like going back to this kind of place as the loot that respawns really isn’t worth the risk due to how to open the place is.

So it’s best to get everything that you can in one trip. That includes unlocking the security safe you just passed by upon arriving, but you can’t open this safe just yet, you need to finish the “Room Service for Major Booker” quest first!

How to Unlock Halperin Security Safe | Dead Island 2

The keys to the safe are being carried by a unique zombie called Hotel Security, they can be found near the security kiosk or at the lower levels where the parking lot is.

The zombie won’t spawn until you finish your business at the hotel though so make sure you’ve already dealt with Becki the Bride for the guy to show up.

Head over to the parking garage southeast of the kiosk, the Hotel Security zombie is well-armored so you’re going to have to aim for the head when you get the chance.

Make use of the elements nearby and electrocute any extra zombies that come your way including the Crusher in the back.

You can also just cheese it and lure one of each zombie out of the parking garage to make the fight easier, don’t worry no one’s looking so there’s no shame in doing it!

After you finish the fight and get the keys, take them back to the kiosk and destroy the two panels to get access inside. You have to smash the window and trigger an alarm to get the maglock to open, but there really isn’t much to loot inside apart from the metal locker and the security safe itself.

Use the key on the safe to get the Violent Machete and say your final goodbyes to the hotel.

If you’re looking for a better place to loot then you can try the Police Station over at Venice Beach, they have guns and ammo that respawn that you might want to have for yourself!

Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
