Dead Island 2: Plumbing the Depths Guide

Plumbing the Depths is the 18th tricky mission given in Dead Island 2. It’s where you have to look for a janitor named Bob while waiting for Dr. Reed to return. In this guide, we’ll help you trudge through the quest by providing comprehensive details regarding what you should do.

After finishing the 17th mission, head to the room nearby the walls filled with missing posters.

You will find Denise in the room and will tell you that Bob went downstairs to repair the water supply downstairs, though he has not come back for a long time. You volunteer to find him for her.

Now head to the lobby and head to the ground floor of the shopping area. Pass through the shutters into the Silver & Steel Jewelry store and enter the backdoor via Keycard Reader.

Head to the backroom and you will find yourself inside a dark service area. Do not rush in yet since there is a shotgun trap waiting for you. Check the box stacks on your 3 o’clock and disarm the shotgun trap. After that, head to the Janitor’s room on the left.

Inspect the Note for Bob then look up ahead and you will spot the safe code document lying in the overhead pipes.

Next, head down the stairway near the corridor. You should spot a Slobber corpse. You will then see a bunch of Slobber remnants stuck on the walls. Be careful as they will explode upon contact so trigger them from a distance.

At the end of the corridor, there will be a door marked “A”. Open it and you will be greeted by a bunch of Walkers and Shamblers. Kill them all.

After killing them, head to the large shutter in the area where you’ll find a keycard reader. Use it then head down the slope.

You will encounter more zombies along the way. Just keep killing those that get in your way and eventually you will reach an open flame pipe.

Once you approach the zombies, your objective will change to this. Once you kill them all, prepare for our former friendly janitor…

Open the door located on the right side of the room. As soon as you open it, a zombified Bob will rush out. Be careful since Bob is classified as a Shocking Walker. Don’t get caught in his post-mortem electrical explosions.

After killing Bob, simply head back to Denise and talk to her and you will inform her of the Janitor’s demise. You will then be in a cutscene where you will talk with Dr. Reed concerning the evacuation efforts of the military.
