For you old time players who’ve played Breath of the Wild and now enjoying The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you don’t want to miss this piece of equipment. The Phantom Armor has been hailed as one of the best armors to get, especially if you can get a full set because of the attack buff.
But it’s obviously not the easiest to reach and not something you can just stumble upon accidentally. The chest is located in an area behind a boss and can be easily missed if you don’t explore deep. Keep reading to learn how to find the cave where the armor is.
Phantom Armor Location
Head to the southwest of Rutile Lake and explore the forest. You’ll be able to meet Kaffi, the NPC, who’ll talk about how she’s treasure hunting. Her hunch tells her there’s a cave nearby but she couldn’t find it and got into trouble with monsters.
You don’t need her, but meeting her is a great way to orientate yourself. Because the cave’s exact location is just southwest from her and the coordinates are (-2910, 0795, 0023). You’ll see a tall cliff and the canyon below you. Drop down and there’s the Tamio River Downstream Cave.
Keep moving forward and there will be monsters you need to kill. If you move further in, there’ll be the Phantom Ganon boss that drops really great weapons. But you can probably avoid them and just go around if you don’t feel like fighting the Gloom Hands and the Phantom Ganon just yet.
Take the right path and you’ll see this entrance with two flags on its side blocked by rocks. You will need bombs or heavy weapons to break through.
There’s going to be a chest inside and there’s your Phantom Armor! The armor still has the same buffs as Breath of the Wild, which is the Attack Up buff. It’s also part of the Phantom set with the Greaves and Helmet. Because of the stats, it is amazing for a glass cannon set up early game, letting you blast through enemies before they can hit you.
Is the Phantom set the best set to get in Tears of the Kingdom or do you prefer running on a different set? Let us know in the comments!
