You’ve already seen a shield get fused to a mine cart to make a skateboard in Tears of the Kingdom. It’s definitely one of the many creative ways to mess with your arsenal that keeps the game fun and the locals utterly terrified.
In this guide, we’ll incite even more fear into the hearts of the Hyrule locals by making use of the best items that you can fuse with your shield. It has other uses aside from doing kickflips and tail grabs you know!
Best Items To Fuse With Shield
We’ll be using a multitude of devices today that you can attach to your shield. You can use these devices for both offense and the opposite of offense if you need time off from all the fighting. Here’s a list of items you’ll be using along with your shield in this guide:
- Time Bomb
- Flame / Frost / Beam Emitter
- Rocket
- Spring
You can find most of these devices in the Device Dispenser over at the South Lanayru Sky Archipelago. For the Rocket, you can head over to the device dispenser over at Tarrey Town.
Time Bomb
A simple yet deadly device for people who love a crowd. Simply attach a Time Bomb to your shield and face the enemy. Once it gets hit it will flash for a few seconds and immediately detonate, damaging everyone except you.
Flame / Frost / Beam Emitter
This next one will work with whatever three devices you attach to your shield. Hold your shield up to unleash fury towards your foes. Make use of the Frost Emitter if you like the idea of freezing your enemies instead of torching them.
Rocket
You can go as far as calling this simple contraption a jetpack. Whenever you need to get out of a tight spot, just block and you’ll be airborne after one or two seconds. Outside of fighting, you can use this to get to hard to reach places as well!
Spring
Similar to the skateboard and rocket, you can use this device to propel yourself into the air to clear a gap or make a narrow escape from a fight that you can’t be bothered to finish.
A dirtier approach to using this item would be to prop your shield against an impatient enemy. It would be preferable to do this next to a cliff to send your opponents flying to their untimely demise. The knockback will definitely encourage other targets nearby to keep your distance from you!
Don’t forget to check out our guide for flying vehicles if you want to make even more use out of the Zonai Devices that are available in the game.
