There are a lot of side quests in Tears of the Kingdom that lets you do puzzles or go onto new areas in the map. Even though these side quests are fun sometimes we just want a side quest that’s simple, like a monster wave defense. That’s the Homegrown in Hateno side quest, and you’ll be fighting a lot of monsters!
In this guide, we’ll show you where to find this side quest and how to finish it. Now get your weapons ready because there’s a lot of fighting to be done!
Homegrown in Hateno Side Quest Guide

Here are the steps we’ll be taking to do this side quest:
- Locate Reede and start the quest at 3300, -2121, 0109.
- Defeat the enemies until the sun comes up.
- Finish the side quest!

Detailed Walkthrough
The first step is to start the side quest by talking to Reeded in the Heteno Village near the Ginner Woods. The exact coordinates are: 3300, -2121, 0109. Talk to him until he asks if you’re ready to defend the area from enemies, pick “All Set!” to begin the defense section.
Nearby the farm there will be a bunch of enemies that appear, they’re fairly weak but there is a lot of waves of them. Make sure to bring a couple of extra weapons just in case your current one breaks!
When you defeat one of them their heads will drop down, make sure to destroy their heads as well to really defeat them. There will also be large enemies that spawn in but again, they’re quite weak and only take a few hits.
The waves will automatically stop when Reede talks to you again and the sun is up. This will complete the side quest once you’re done talking to him!
