So, you thought you have come across all the pillars in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Guess what? You haven’t. After finishing the game, there are still things left to do and quests to complete. The last pillar will be on Skull Rock, and there will be a puzzle involved. If you’re having a hard time solving it, then you’ve come to the right place. In this guide, I will show you how you can easily solve the pillar puzzle and activate the Skull Rock in no time!
How to Activate Skull Rock
To activate the Skull Rock in the small island nearby Dazzle Beach, you’ll have to follow these steps:
NOTE: You have to finish the game first, before unlocking this quest.
Get The Orb of Unity
You’ll have to get the Orb of Unity located back in Dream Castle. To get back to the castle, you’ll need to go to the Plaza and enter this dark portal as shown in the image below. You’ll need the orb to activate the last pillar located in Skull Rock, which I will show the location in detail further in the guide. Let’s get the orb first!
After entering the portal, go back to the castle until you reach the entrance.
You’ll notice that there will be a pad that can be activated besides the door. Enter through the pad and it will take you to the end area where you fought with The Forgotten.
After arriving at the location, get the purple Orb of Unity as shown in the image below.
Afterwards, you can return back to the Plaza easily by entering the pad again.
The Pillar Puzzle
With the Orb of Unity on your hands, go to the Skull Rock located in located in a small island in Dazzle Beach as mentioned before. For a more specific location, you can check the map down below.
Put the Orb of Unity in the pillar and you’ll start the “Between a Skull Rock and a Hard Place” quest. Successfully completing this quest will activate the Skull Rock. In order to save you up some time, here’s how!
After starting the quest, you’ll see different symbols on the sands around the island’s pillar. These symbols stand for all the different pillars that you’ve gathered from playing the game. To solve the puzzle, you’ll have to put the pillars on all their correct and respective places. I will show you the correct order or placement of the pillars but before that, here’s how you can move the pillars first!
You should have 8 pillars in total (including the one on the center of the island). To move all the pillars into the Skull Rock Island, you’ll need to go to your Furnitures and drag all of them into the island one-by-one.
In case you find yourself missing on a pillar, you might want to check this tree out. This tree is one of the pillars located in Sunlit Plateau and you can pick it up. For a more specific location, you can refer to the map image down below.
Before you set up the pillars in the island, you’ll need to remove all unnecessary objects like plants and flowers that will block the placement of your pillars.
With the island all cleared out and ready, here’s the proper placement of all the pillars in the island. You can refer to the image below. But if you’re looking for more specfic instructions, here it is.
From Moana’s raft, starting from the Peaceful Meadow Pillar and in clockwise direction:
- Peaceful Meadow Pillar – has blue flowers on top of it.
- Glade of Trust Pillar – the behind the big tree.
- Sunlit Plateau Pillar – the big tree.
- Forgotten Realms Pillar – has dark vines wrapped around it.
- Frosted Heights Pillar – has snow on top of it.
- Forest of Valor Pillar – has moss around it.
- Dazzle Beach Pillar – a smooth one.
After solving the puzzle, you’ll go through a short cutscene, and it will show the Skull Rock moving a bit closer to the island.
After that, go back to Merlin to complete the quest. That’s it. Nice work, dreamer!
What Happens After Activating Skull Rock?
It’s not in the game yet. But activating the Skull Rock will be very important for the upcoming update/s. The reason why is because the player will actually be able to go inside the Skull Rock. I don’t know if it has something to do with the upcoming biome or not. But you’ll need to activate the rock if you’re interested in continuing to this part of the game.
