Diablo 4: Scorched Debts Guide

Players sometimes stumble across objects on the ground in Diablo 4. Not knowing that this is a hidden side quest. Interacting with the object will automatically start the quest and you’re left there confused on what to do next.

In this article, I will provide a walkthrough on how to complete the Scorched Debts side quest. Included are the locations and objectives that you need to do in order to complete the quest about some book you have uncovered on the ground.

Scorched Debts Guide

Now, this side quest requires the player to go to different places and talk to different NPCs. To find the Scorched Debt Ledger, go to the Bastard’s Pass in the region of Dry Steppes and you will see the ledger on the ground. See the picture below for better map navigation where the book is found.

After interacting with the ledger, you will receive the objectives until you finish the quest. Here’s the walkthrough of each objective and where to find them.

The first objective is to talk to Andreea about the ledger you found. She is found in Lakren’s Overlook as shown in the picture below. When you interact with her, she will become hostile. Defeat her and the rest of the bandits. Only then you can proceed to the next objective.
Our second objective is to go to Ked Bardu. I highly recommend unlocking and using the Ked Bardu Waypoint to travel there faster. We need to speak with the Innkeeper to progress the quest.
After that, the third objective is to talk to Svea about the ledger. She is found south of the Ked Bardu waypoint. If you speak to her then you will receive the fourth objective.
As soon as you receive the fourth objective, go north from the Ked Bardu waypoint to find Setsgi the healer. Talk to her to progress the quest and at this point, we’re halfway through completing the side quest.
Find Lyruk in Crown of Fiends. You can either use the Onyx Watchtower waypoint or the Chambatar Ridge waypoint. Nonetheless, he is found in between those waypoints.
Talk to Lyruk and he will ask you to go to the campfire southwest of your location. This time you will burn the Ledger using the campfire Lyruk talked about. As soon as you burn the ledger, a bunch of demons will spawn and attack you.
After burning the ledger, talk back to Lyruk. As a result of burning the ledger, he will now ask for your help in performing the ritual. Be ready because there’s going to be a mini-boss battle after the ritual.
As soon as the ritual is complete, The Debt Collector will spawn. The last objective of the quest, it’s quite simple. Kill the demon! Upon defeating the vile demon that spawned, you will be rewarded with 32,320 XP, 2,850 Gold, and 20 Renown.

After doing all of that you finally completed the quest. Sure, it may take some time since you need to locate a lot of NPC, and can get tiring. However, with 32k of XP, I can say that it is worth it. Although, one NPC is sacrificed for this quest.
