PlayStation games have always referenced other games under PlayStation Studios. Ghost of Tsushima had an easter egg that allowed Jin to wear Aloy’s iconic outfit from Horizon Zero Dawn. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart featured many easter eggs from Uncharted, Sly Cooper, God of War, Jak & Daxter.
It’s safe to say that the studios are a tightknit family, which is why it’s no surprise that players can find a God of War easter egg in Horizon Forbidden West.
How To Get Kratos Face Paint – Horizon Forbidden West
To get Kratos’ face paint, which is a cosmetic item that will give Aloy the familiar white and red on her face, you will need to collect 3 totems hidden all over the world.
The first one you can collect is located in a shack in the snowy mountains. The totem is the God of War himself, Kratos.
You can find him just lying down in the snow. Picking him up will trigger Aloy to say that the carved figure looks like some sort of war god. If only you knew, Aloy.
The second totem is Atreus, which can be found near the sandy beaches.
Atreus’ totem can be found on top of metal wreckage. Picking up the totem will trigger Aloy to comment that the totem is a carved figure of a boy.
The last totem, or totems in this case, are Brok and Sindri, the blacksmithing brothers that help Kratos and Atreus upgrade their gear. They can be found all the way on the other side of the map.
The two totems can be found huddled together under a rock formation from the rain. Collecting the totems will trigger Aloy to comment that one brother looks tough (Brok), while the other brother looks fussy (Sindri).
Once you’ve collected them all, you will then unlock the Mark of War face paint.
