The new A Dusty Trip game on Roblox just got a pretty huge update, which added various new features including guns. Because of these new additions, the already harsh desert has become even more unforgiving, so in this guide, we will be showing you how to get one of these weapons to protect yourself from the horrifying monsters roaming the world!
How to Get Gun Weapon & Destroy Mutants
One of the easiest ways to get a gun in the game is right at the place you spawn in. Inside the first building you see, there will be a Golden AK hanging on the wall.
This weapon is supposedly “overpowered” and will set you back 99 Robux if you want one. There is conflicting information as to whether or not this is permanent, so buy it at your own risk.
Once you have it, the weapon comes with a total of 120 / 1200 ammo. This means that you can fully reload it ten more times before it runs out of bullets, though you can probably get more throughout your journey.
Aside from that, regular pistols and rifles can supposedly be found in random structures all around the map. So, just keep on scavenging if you don’t feel like spending any Robux for the “OP” gun.
The downside to scavenging for weapons is that they typically have low ammo. Because of that, you are going to want to conserve your bullets and make every shot count.
These can also be used to shoot and damage other players, so be careful where you aim your guns unless you are purposefully trying to hit your friends… You know, for fun.
Taking Down Mutants
With your new deadly toys, you can now take down mutants from a distance. However, you have to be careful with how you aim in order to avoid wasting your ammunition.
The problem with guns in the game is that they are not very easy to aim due to how the physics work. Basically, your arms flail around when holding something, and guns are no exception to this.
Whenever you are close to any objects or walls, there is a chance that your weapon will aim at the wrong direction as it is being pushed aside by the collision. This can make your shots completely miss.
This is especially problematic when using an AK, because their long model causes them to get stuck in corners and walls much more often than if you were using a regular pistol.
To combat this issue, you can lure enemies outside before you start shooting them. Aiming in an open area is way easier and will ensure that you don’t waste ammo on literally nothing.
Also, mutants have a very strange hitbox. While gamers would normally aim for the head when fighting zombies, you should not do this in A Dusty Trip.
Until the developers adjust their hitboxes, it is best to hit mutants in the torso area. There does not seem to be any headshot bonus anyway, so it’s better to ensure that your shots land.
As I just said, these mutants also have an unusual hitbox as it extends slightly beyond their actual character model. This makes it fairly forgiving to shoot them as long as your gun is not stuck on a random surface.
Finally, there is also recoil to keep in mind, so be careful not to spray full auto with guns that can. After holding it for about two shots, your gun will slowly start pointing towards the sky.
And that is everything you need to know so far about how guns work in the game and where you can potentially find them. If you are still new to the game, check out our beginner’s guide for A Dusty Trip for some helpful tips and tricks to start out with!
