If you’re on the hunt for Signor Smushki, the dashing cat of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, you’ve come to the right place. The “A Free Spirit” mission isn’t just about completing a quest—it lets you uncover hidden corners, explore across the Vatican and most importantly, snap some truly adorable cat photos! In this guide, I will walk you through all five cat photo locations, so you can purr-fectly complete all of them!

A Free Spirit Guide | All 5 Cat Photos Location

First, head to the noticeboard exactly on the other side of the Tower of Nicholas V. This is where you’ll find the missing cat poster and learn about Signor Smushki, a black cat with short, satin-like fur and a white chest tuft. Once you’ve picked up the flyer, you’ll know Signor Smushki was last seen near the Tower of Nicholas V, so start your search there.

You’ll only need to photograph Signor Smushki to complete the quest, but snapping all five cats earns you bonus Experience Points and the satisfaction of completing it 100%! Before you dive into your search, here are a few tips to help you tackle the ‘A Free Spirit’ mission more efficiently:

  • Use your map frequently to stay oriented while climbing rooftops and navigating alleys.
  • Listen for meows! The cats make distinct sounds that can guide you if you’re stuck.
  • Take your time on narrow paths; one wrong move can send you back to the ground, and nobody wants to climb all over again.
  • Don’t miss out on the exploration books scattered around the game—these can help you locate other collectibles.

Cat #1: Black and White Cat

  • Location: Near the pharmacy, opposite the missing cat poster.

Directions: Head to the road opposite the noticeboard and go straight, taking a right into an alleyway. Listen for a fascist talking about the weather, then take the left before the steps begin. You’ll find a black-and-white cat lounging near a tree in the middle. Pull out your camera (press up on the D-pad), frame it, and snap the photo.

Cat #2: Signor Smushki (Main Target)

  • Location: Rooftop near the black gates.

Directions: From the first location, exit the alley and take the road to the right. Pass through the black gates and into another alley. Look for a ladder on the right, climb it, and jump over the boxes ahead. There’s another ladder—climb that too.

On the roof with some painters, look for Signor Smushki perched at the split in the roof. This is your main objective, so don’t forget to photograph him.

Cat #4: Grey Cat

  • Location: Rooftop narrow path.

Cat #5: Brown Cat

  • Location: Near the first descent ladder.

Directions: After snapping the grey cat, head to the left roof and carefully navigate upward to a higher one. Use the ladders to go back down. Near the base of the first ladder, you’ll spot the brown cat. This one requires a bit of persistence, but it’s worth the effort to get the final photo!
