Step 1: Unlock Exploration Mode
Before anything, you’ll need to progress through the main story until Exploration Mode becomes available. Once unlocked, your quest menu will point you toward the fisherman’s general location in Moonveil Mountain, west of Qinghe.
Tip: If nothing triggers when you reach him, just clear a bit more of the main story first.
Step 2: Talk to the Fisherman
Once you meet the fisherman, get ready for a long dialogue (~3–4 minutes). After this, the Wine Jar Challenge becomes available.

- For the longer gaps:
- Run → Jump → Double (or Triple) Jump → Dash
- Let go of the movement stick to gently float down onto the next jar. Overcorrecting causes overshoots.
- Cheese: Pop umbrella → hold charged attack → glide across like a genius.
- Repeat until you reach the NPC at the last jar.
Pro tip: Some players find triple jump + dash easier than double jump for timing tricky jars.
Step 4: Finish the Mini-Quest
After reaching the boat:
- Speak to the fisherman again
- Collect items from the boat to unlock partial Meteor Flight
Returning to shore:
- Talk to the fisherman again
- He’ll explain that Meteor Flight isn’t fully unlocked, you’ll need the Afterglow Pendant to use it freely.
Why You Might Be Stuck
Even after completing the Wine Jar Challenge, the Afterglow ability is restricted. The quest appears “stuck” because you need the Afterglow Pendant to progress.
Step 5: How to Get the Afterglow Pendant
- Open your map (touchpad on PlayStation) and check Area Exploration progress.
- The pendant unlocks at Exploration Level 4.
- To level up:
