Boss fights can be vastly different in games. Where others can be quite challenging and then some are easy. This might come as a surprise for some, but the horror mystery game Alan Wake 2 has its fair share of boss fights. The main challenge in these fights is the areas you fight them in as well as conserving your limited ammunition.
In this guide, we’ll show you can effectively fight this boss in Alan Wake 2. We’ll also show you where you can find ammunition if you run out during the battle. Now, get ready for a tough fight!
Defeat Nightingale
At one point in the game, you’ll be tasked with defeating Nightingale. This is a boss fight and most probably its first move is to go towards you fast and grab you.
When you’re grabbed a Quick-Time event happens where you mash a button repeatedly to get out of its grip.
After you get out of the boss’ hold you can shoot him a couple of times as they reel back.
You can also use your Flashlight to do a Flashlight Boost on the enemy. This will stun them for a bit and expose their Source points.
As you can see below the Source Point is the glowing red spot on its body. You can shoot that are to deal massive damage to the boss.
You have a limited amount of inventory slots in the game at this point so you might run out of ammunition.
Throughout the area, you can see these white and red boxes. When you open them, they usually contain ammunition for you to use so keep that in mind.
Here are some general tips for fighting this boss:
- It helps if you get the shotgun before fighting the boss. Make sure to check out our guide on the Shotgun code for more information.
- Some players have found it easier to run around and pick up the ammo first before engaging in the fight.
- There is an open area with a big rock in this boss fight. You can stay there and have an easier time seeing things.
- If you can’t find any more ammo you can pistol whip the boss to death.
- When you deal a substantial amount of damage to him he will disappear for a while. Use this time to reload, loot, or heal up.
