There is no game that represents the mind of a writer better than Alan Wake 2. The game allows you to play around with plot points, which can be used to solve puzzles and bring you closer to your goals. However, like any writer, there is some inspiration needed before a proper plot has been established.

Similarly, as Alan Wake, you will need to find some inspiration during the Search for the Cult mission. Many players tend to get stuck here as it isn’t immediately obvious where you are supposed to get inspiration from. In this guide, we will show you exactly how to find Inspiration at the Subway Station. In this way, you can get closer to locating the Cult. Let’s dive in!

Find Inspiration at the Subway Station

You will get the Find Inspiration at the Subway Station objective when you progress with the Search for the Cult mission.

Specifically, this will occur when you reach the Shrine St. Station. You will be on the left side of this Station and will need to make your way towards the end at the right side.

Start by going into the train that is immediately towards your right.

When you exit this train, you will see a Shadow-infused enemy. You can simply ignore this enemy as you will actually need to go towards the left.

However, before you do this, turn towards the back left. Next to the train you exited, you will see a Word of Gun sign.

Interact with it to unlock it in your Writers Room.

Now, make your way towards the left. Here, you will have the option to either go from the left platform or go down from the tracks.

Either way works fine. However, with the platform you will be faced with Shadow enemies that you will need to use your flashlight on.

So, the path downwards is much better, as it will allow you to save battery.

Follow the path down and then go up the stairs on the right. Now, you will find yourself in a large hall at the end of the station.

This is where the End of the Line Scene will unlock, and you will need to play around with Plot Elements in your Plot Board.

Go into the Plot Board and select the Murder Cult plot.

Wait for this effect to change place and watch as the hall is turned into a horrifying scene covered in red light.

You can even interact with a board there that shows signs of the Cult’s presence in the hallway. Also, be careful as Shadow enemies can sneak up on you.

When the scene has changed, look up in the middle of the hallway. You will be able to make a black echo right in the middle and a white Echo right above the board.

You will need to line them up to get the Inspiration needed for a new plot element.

Once the Echoes have been lined up, a scene will play out.

This will unlock the Summoning Ritual as a Plot Element. You can change the plot point to Summoning Ritual in the Plot Board and continue to progress through this mission!

That’s everything you need to know about how to finish the Find Inspiration at the Subway Station. As you can see, the objective is pretty straightforward once you figure out which plot point you need to use to find the Echo. Echoes can be used to unlock new Plot Elements throughout the entirety of Alan Wake 2.
