Let’s get to know the basics on how to work on a case!

Alan Wake 2: Investigate the Crime Scene

Alan Wake 2 lets you discover many of the hidden mysteries in Bright Falls. As the FBI Agent Saga Anderson, you’ll be the one to solve and find the answer to every question regarding the cases. The Cauldron Lake Murder serves as an introduction to the game, helping you understand how it works.

During the quest, you’ll cooperate with your FBI partners to gather information about the murder case. ‘Investigate the Crime Scene’ is one of the objectives you must accomplish to progress further into the storyline. In this guide, we’ll show you the steps on how you can complete that one goal.

Investigate the Crime Scene

After you investigate the victim’s body, you will receive a Key Image. You can place this item on your Case Board inside the Mind Place.

Once you do that, you will start a new line of investigation. In this case, you have created one about the crime scene.

After you place down a Key Image, it will prompt a new question. To your right, you will see the question ‘Consistent With Previous Murders?‘.

These questions can be answered by putting in new clues, so you should go back and continue investigating for more information.

You can then interact with the body to start the investigation process. After that, you will be able to gather three hints: the chest wound, bruising on the wrists, and the heart next to the body.

These three clues will be useful for you when you put all the information together in your case board.

Once you have answered the question, the case board will give you a Deduction. As you advance in the investigation, there will be more questions for you to answer.
