Alan Wake 2 features two different worlds that you can explore as different characters. In the real world, you have Saga Anderson. In the Dark Place, you have Alan Wake. Playing as Alan Wake, you find these Murder Site’s that help you contact Saga who is in the real world, who is also trying to help you.
Alan finds multiple Murder Sites that help him connect with Saga, and one of those can be found deep in the Subway Tunnels. In this guide, I will show you how you can find the Murder Site in the Subway Tunnels.
Reach the Murder Site
When you reach the Murder Site in the Subway Tunnels, which is End of the Line, you will have to change the location around you in order to progress the story.
To do that, you will need to change the Plot Element to Summoning Ritual. Go to your Writer’s Room and to the Plot Board. There, select End of the Line and then select Summoning Ritual.
The area will change in the Dark Place to reflect the Plot Element. However, this attracts multiple enemies, all approaching you to kill Alan. You will have to fight back against these enemies and defeat them before progressing the story.
After killing all of the enemies, you will now have to do a lot of backtracking, all the way to the Collapsed Tunnel. While you backtrack, you will encounter a lot of enemies along the way.
They will continue to attack you until you leave the area you are in right now, so watch out for any shadows that will approach you, as there’s a 50/50 chance they will attack you.
While backtracking, make sure to take this door that’s on the right side of the area. This will lead you to a shortcut that will take you back to the Collapsed Tunnel quicker.
You’ll find a Word of Power as well as an Echo in here, so it’s definitely worth going in here to check it out to get upgrades for Alan and some more story.
After getting the Word of Power and the Echo, go up these stairs. You will find a safe room on the right and the way forward on the left.
I suggest you go into the safe room in order to catch your breath, as it does get a little wild at this point in the area. Once you’re ready, continue moving.
After resting at the safe room and getting your bearings, go through the door that’s on the other side of the safe room.
It will lead you back up to the subway tracks that leads to the Collapsed Tunnel. Make your way to the Collapsed Tunnel when you get here.
Arriving at the Collapsed Tunnel, you will have to go into your Writer’s Room and go to the Plot Board.
In the Collapsed Tunnel scene, switch the Plot Element to the Summoning Ritual. The world will then change, and the Collapsed Tunnel will no longer be blocked.
However, things don’t go according to the plan when the Dark Presence shows up. This being will kill you when you are captured, so your only choice is to run to a location with light to protect you.
While running from the Dark Presence, go into the subway train that has the front door open. You will then have to open the door that’s on the other side by mashing the button that pops up.
When you exit the subway train, you will find a room that has light inside, which will protect you from the Dark Presence. Go inside and the Dark Presence will disappear, leaving you alone for now.
After a while, you can now leave the room and go back to the Collapsed Tunnel that is now open.
When you near the Collapsed Tunnel, the Dark Presence reemerges behind you, leaving your only chance of survival to run into the tunnel.
Eventually, the Dark Presence will be stopped by debris blocking its path to Alan. Keep going forward, as you are nearing the Murder Site.
Soon, you will emerge in a large room that contains the Murder Site, as well as the body of the missing FBI agent, Nightingale.
Approach the Murder Site and pick up the heart that’s in front of the body, which completes the objective.
