Alan Wake 2: Enter the Unblocked Tunnel

Alan Wake 2 features a dark and terrifying being called the Dark Presence. This dark entity hunts and haunts Alan Wake all throughout the events of the first game, all the way until it successfully captured him and dragged him to the Dark Place. The Dark Presence wants Alan under its control, while Alan wants to leave the Dark Place and destroy it.

Multiple times, it will come after Alan and chase him down, like in the Subway Tunnels. In this guide, I will show you how to enter the unblocked tunnel and escape the Dark Presence in Alan Wake 2.

Enter the Unblocked Tunnel

When you arrive at the Collapsed Tunnel after getting the Summoning Ritual Plot Element, you will need to go into your Writer’s Room and select the Plot Board.

There, you will have to choose the Collapsed Tunnel and choose the Summoning Ritual Plot Element. This will change the area around the Collapsed Tunnel, making the tunnel unblocked.

However, this catches the attention of the Dark Presence. This dark entity will appear in front of the unblocked tunnel, forcing you to turn around to avoid getting killed by this monster. You will have to run fast and not look back if you want to make it.

Run towards the train car that has the front door open. When you make it inside, run until the end of the train car and try to open the door on the left. You will need to mash the button that comes on screen in order to open the door.

Once the door is open and you slip through, run to the room that has a light coming out of it. This is your safe haven from the Dark Presence.

Once you’re inside, the Dark Presence will leave you alone. For now. Catch your breath and save your progress, because you need to get out of the room and to the unblocked tunnel.

As you make your way to the unblocked tunnel, the Dark Presence comes back again, this time emerging behind you. Don’t look back and keep running until you make it to the unblocked tunnel.

You will eventually reach a point where you need to crawl down into a crawlspace as debris falls around you. The debris blocks the Dark Presence from following, allowing you to safely continue.
