Anime Vanguards on Roblox has just been released allowing players to use all sorts of units from their favorite anime in a tower defense style game. For new players, there can be a lot to take, especially with so many modes and materials.
Not to worry, we have you covered. In this beginner’s guide, we’ll go over everything you need to know to get a good start. This includes any tricks or tips that can assist you. Without further delay, let’s dive in!
Complete Beginner’s Guide
Since the game is just starting out, there are some modes that are not accessible yet as they are either still being worked on or are glitched. Nonetheless, these issues will be rectified promptly in Anime Vanguards. Feel free to use the Table of Contents if you’re only interested in a specific aspect of the guide.
Areas
When you start the game, the first thing you want to turn your attention to is the Areas option on the left. This will basically show you all the main areas in Anime Vanguard that you will be visiting a lot.
The first of these is the Challenges area where you can get a lot of materials. Currently, this area is bugged, so most players have not been able to explore it much.
The next area is Evolve where you go to evolve your units. This will make your unit better and provide you with better overall stats. You can also craft materials in this section, in case you have a bunch of low tier material.
After that, we have the Play area. The Play area is where you can play the story mode to progress through the game. We strongly recommend you spend most of your time as a beginner here.
Finally, we have the Summon area where you can roll to get units. By spending gems, you can test your luck and try to get higher rarity units.
Recommended Units
Since the Summon area is so crucial, you may be wondering which units you should actually try to summon.
For the Mythics, we recommend that you try to get Song Jinwu as he is the best unit by far in the game. He will be able to carry you through the entirety of story mode. Sasuke and Obita are really decent Mythics too.
Be sure to avoid Naruto as he is a terrible unit currently in Anime Vanguards.
Finally, we also recommend using Speedwagon as he is the only farm currently in the game. You’ll need him when you’re trying to do nightmare difficulty runs.
Alligator is a great Epic unit that helps you against the more difficult enemies that you’ll encounter. But for the most part, if you have Legendary units you should be able to manage pretty easily.
Gamepasses
When you open the Passes tab, you’ll see all sorts of gamepasses that you can purchase with Robux. If you really want to spend money, we recommend getting the following gamepasses:
- Premium Pass
- You get a lot of trait rerolls, gems and stat items
- VIP Pass
- 20% off on summons
- +10% XP earned
- x2 Time Machine Gems
These two gamepasses will give you the most bang for your buck.
If you’re someone who eventually starts getting into the summons a lot, you can consider getting the Shiny Hunter gamepass. But as a beginner, it is not necessary.
We recommend that you avoid the rest of the gamepasses related to gold, gems and trait rerolls. This is because you can easily grind these by playing the game.
How To Get Gems, Gold and Rerolls
Now you’ll be wondering what is the best way to get gems, gold and rerolls in Anime Vanguards. There are quite few methods and we recommend trying all of them.
The first is by doing all your Daily and Weekly quests. You can get a lot of Gems this way, enabling you to roll for Summons. Try to do these regularly as well, so you can consistently keep getting them.
After that, you will want to visit the Collection NPC in the lobby. This allows you to get additional free gems just for collecting units. So whenever you summon a new unit, come here to claim free gems.
Nearby, you can also find the Level Milestones NPC. He will give you better rewards as you gain levels in the game, all the way to 100. This includes gold, rerolls and gems.
So be sure to visit this guy as you progress through the game to claim some free rewards.
Be sure to also visit the Enemy Index NPC that can be found in the Play area of Anime Vanguards. This guy will give you extra gems for discovering new enemies in story mode.
So, as you progress through the story mode, be sure to visit him as well. You’ll be able to claim even more gems.
Finally, another great way to rerolls and gems is by going to the Achievements tab. As you progress through story mode on higher difficulties, you’ll start unlocking achievements.
If you complete an achievement, you can claim a lot of rewards. The first two achievements even give you mounts that you can equip using the V button. You will need to complete many of the story mode maps on nightmare difficulty.
With the units we recommended, this should be quite manageable.
Gameplay Tips
When you load into a game in Anime Vanguards, typically you’ll need to choose between one of three modifiers. All of these modifiers will ramp up the difficulty in some way.
Whatever you do, do not select the Exploding enemies modifier. It will make the matches incredibly difficult and you’ll have a horrible experience. Shielded enemies are also difficult but mostly manageable.
We recommend you go for the Strong Enemies modifier as you’ll barely notice the difference. On top of that, if you have Mythics you’ll be able to manage these enemies pretty easily.
Besides that, the gameplay is mostly straightforward, being the same as other anime tower defense games on Roblox.
Just be careful when you come upon Dismantled Puppet enemies. They are the hardest enemies in the game. When you kill this enemy, it turns into a normal Shinobi Puppet.
After that, it turns back into a Dismantled Puppet with a shield. So, you really need to spam these enemies to be able to defeat them. This is where the Alligator unit can help a lot!
Settings
There are some settings that you will want to change in Anime Vanguards. We recommend tweaking two settings which are the following:
- Auto Skip Enemies – On
- Makes the gameplay aspect much more convenient
- Skip Summon Animation – On
- Will skip the animation for summons as they can be tedious with time.
Besides that, be sure to tweak the Graphics as well so that you can improve performance depending on your device.
That’s everything you need to know for the complete beginner’s guide. Now, you’ll be able to make good progress in Anime Vanguards. But regardless, expect to grind a lot in the game!
